That got me wondering about the etymology of the phrase "brand new", and according to the OED it means the same as "fire-new", which is a phrase which was used by Shakespeare. Interesing.

f. BRAND n. + NEW, as if fresh and glowing from the furnace; cf. Shakespeare's fire-new.

i thought it wasso funny certainly would have made my day(im a housewife i dont get out much) i got a spam email the other day claiming to be from martain to join this website pay so much to join and they set up an advertising site for you and you rake it in according to them martain works for them reported it and they confirmed it was spam and it wasnt from them ALL SORTED!
