I think you should definitely make contact with the store manager and I don't really see why you don't want to - after all, if you can go to the trouble of posting on here, why not make your case to the person who can do something about it?0

Do you have any tattoos?

I have e-mailed them with all the information they need in order to investigate. Why do I need to make a contact with the store manager for? The store manager will say exactly the same - apology and the promise to investigate.0 -

Please can someone who regularly shop at Waitrose advise? It is not my regular shop so I don't know. Today I went to a Waitrose to pick up something nice for the New year celebration. As tomorrow this Waitrose is closed, there were a lot of bargains in the store. I grabbed few things (6 in total) and went to pay for these. I gave the cash and also handed my Waitrose membership card. The sale assistant took the cash but refused to accept the Waitrose card by saying that "It is pointless to take to use the card as you have reduced food. There is no discount for reduced food with Waitrose card". I did not say anything, she gave me receipt and I left the store. She was unfriendly and she said it so loud that other customers have turned their heads that I felt quite embarrassed. It not if I wanted the additional discount, I always use the loyalty cards where I shop. I felt a bit embarrassed and humiliated. Was she right about this policy?
should have gone to customer services and complained as waitrose do take money off reduced food items! i often buy reduced items for 30p and it takes more off. i would send an email to customer services to complain - you may get a waitrose voucher. i did!0 -

That e-mail which I received straight after submitting the customer satisfactory survey was from the customer services.0 -
I do have to say I'm surprised - I've always found that, of all the supermarkets I use, the Waitrose staff are far and away the most polite and helpful. And that's part of the reason I thought you should see the store manager. I think it would be helpful to him or her to ensure that it doesn't occur again. I'm all for trying to improve things, not just moan about them.0

If you've had a bad experience in store it's now pretty standard that they ask you to go in and speak to the store manager about it, have had this with several supermarkets including Morrisons and Sainsbury's. I'm very very surprised this has happened at waitrose as the staff at my local branch are all lovely. Xx0

There is no excuse for SAs being unpleasant to customers.
About three years ago I was humiliated by a SA in Farm Foods. I had gone in to buy a few bits with the cash in my pocket. When this was tallied up at the till I was surprised to find it came to a couple of pounds more than I had thought. I queried this but was abruptly told that I was wrong. I decided to leave the goods in the store, go home and return with more cash. I live locally so was away for no more than 10 minutes. When I returned the shop was really busy. The SA saw me enter, pressed a bell and shouted at top volume to a colleague on the other side of the shop "that woman who didn't pay for her shopping's come back". In addition to this, before I paid I checked the cost of my goods and discovered that my initial costing had in fact been correct.
I felt every eye in the store was on me. I was so upset about this that I wrote to their head office. They took this surprisingly seriously and an area manager called at my flat and presented me with flowers and chocolates. If you feel sufficiently upset - write a letter of complaint.Make £10 per day in May challenge: £310/123.920 -
