Sky Customer Service Awful. In fact, beyond awful

I saw a package on Top Cashback (recomm. by MSE) for Sky TV; 25% reduction for 12 months, and tried to get it for my partner. Got so far then she had to call Sky who claimed she was already a customer (she tried to get a deal via Groupon in Feb 2013 but at the very end you were told you had to take a Sky phone line as well so she cancelled and didn't proceed). Trying to explain to Sky that she has never been a customer was exhausting, even though they admit that her previous account was 'pending'. They tried to offer a deal but they wanted her full details, maiden name, mum's maiden name, bank account details etc. They then claimed that it will take some time to remove her details from the system to enable her to take the Cashback deal (although they tried every trick to make her go direct with them). They wouldn't give her a price so I spoke to them. The guy called John came up with every delaying tactic he could think of, even when I told him she wouldn't go ahead with them as their offer was inferior to Top Cashback. He then claimed she had to wait on the line while he deleted her details. In the end she told him to ensure all of her details are removed from Sky's register and she was hanging up, which she eventually did. All of this took 62 mins on an 0844 number. And this is a potential customer who wanted Sky! Heaven forbid anyone who is already a customer who has an issue with them. Trust me, the experience above is an edited version. He even put her on hold for 6 minutes to get prices and still didn't have anything to give to her when he eventually returned!!! AVOID!!! A letter is on it's way to Jeremy Darroch the Sky CEO. By the way, the Cashback offer ends today so I have no doubt her details will not be removed from their servers today, meaning he will miss out on the offer.

I thought I was following this rant but you lost me here. Jeremy Darroch will miss out on the offer?
BTW there is no longer a requirement for phone line connection on new installations - Multiscreen or single.0 -

The Op is not talking about connecting a telephone line to the digibox, but about Groupon insisting that customers take a Sky telephone service to obtain a discount.Moneymaker wrote: »there is no longer a requirement for phone line connection on new installations - Multiscreen or single.0 -

http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.phpAll of this took 62 mins on an 0844 number.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
