Christmas Savings 2014

It's interesting to see the different ways that people are saving for Christmas. I have an online account that I transfer £30 into on payday, each month. This is there Christmas and Birthdays. I also earmark all my Cash back and survey money for gifts. It helps me enjoy my Christmas shopping more, knowing that the money is there and there won't be a big bill to pay after Christmas.0

Hi, can I join please? I have my application form ready to take to the Post Office tomorrow to join the Christmas Club. Had a sudden realisation today that tomorrow is August and it usually flies by so we'll be into Autumn before I know it! It's been interesting to read how others are saving for Christmas. Next year I'll start earlier but to be fair I usually don't save for Christmas and end up overspending.0

I'm going to look more into the post office thing, I've never heard of it before.

You know that you can't use points then pay the difference with a boots card don't you??
Can't for the life of me understand why as at the end of the day they're still getting money but they just like being a pain in the rear end when it come to using points:mad:Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

I discovered this in the January sales - it is extremely annoying that to use your Boots points the item/s you want to buy must be the same value as or less than the points value that you want to use.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
I don't tend to have specific Xmas savings as we don't go too mad on food and I try and pick present bits up throughout the year (you won't see me in a non - food shop after the middle of October!) but I collect amazon vouchers through VO and TCB for some treats
I've also got into the habit of emptying the purse out of any change every couple of days so the accumulation can go in the bank machine at the end of the year, also means I can't just nip out for a coffee or whatever in the work canteen cos I don't want to break into any notes
*Just checked my Boots account inspired by the posts above, I have just over £17 worth on there. I'm hoping not to do the crazy Boots shop for Xmas this year but the points might do me in handy regardless!0
