    I've been Money Tipped!
Forgot about the supermarkets, I save stamps with morrisons, I don't have a set amount I just round it off to the nearest £5 ie if my shopping comes to £62.37 I would buy two savings stamps. I have found in previous years I have used this more for DVDs, CDs and books rather than my food shopping.

Unfortunately we don't have a Morrisons Waitrose etc here in N.Ireland :( And I don't live near a Sainsburys, so it's good old Mr T that I'll be saving with. And they have a machine beside the checkouts where you buy your stamps £1 each :)

I'm just thinking though I might put £1 each week away in a wee tub for my butcher meat for next year lol.

We save and list all year - picking up bits and pieces as we go and it means Christmas is never a worry.

Please don't think I am being critical here but why do you need to save with Park ? Just open a small savings account and that way you are not giving your money to someone else.

One present we have done a number of times which is great is take people out for afternoon tea. We have a nice hotel around here that does it for £12 per head and it makes a pleasant afternoon out and you get to spend TIME with people rather than just a gift.

    Anyway, good luck ![/QUOTE
I don't think your being critical at all. However Ive tried saving the money before but then the car would need something done or something else would need bought, this way I know I have the money saved. Good idea for a saving account though if you don't dip into throughout the year.

I have also decided to start the 50p pot challenge because I get lots because I try to only spend cash at shop and get lots of change. Then will empty it out at end of November and buy some presents.
Determined to be money neutral this year
    50p pot: 5.00/£50.00
    Sealed pot: 33.80/???????

I buy throughout the year. What works for me is having a notebook where I write down, what I've bought, who its for, how much I paid for it and the original selling price.

I did have a 'present' box of generic presents, but I found that I ended up with loads of unsuitable gifts, which I would give as 'extra' presents, which meant I wasn't actually saving any money. So now, I buy with the recipient in mind.

I also keep a list of present ideas, so if somebody tells me they like a particular item, I write it down and then wait until I see a good deal on it.

I think I'm going to go with park too, for the love2shop and asda vouchers.

I've tended to go for pay for Xmas our of overtime, however there are rumours abound about stopping overtime, so want to be prepared!

I'm not the best saver in the world when it comes to Xmas, I always end up getting to July when christmas seems like a million years away and spending it!

Have managed to save £32.09 so far for Xmas and £4.00 in 50p sealed pot which is also for Xmas. Also got some dirt cheap presents in Wilkinsons which will put away for sons stocking. I am feeling saving mad so have started only using cash to shop and am putting all spare change at end of day in pot, it all adds up!

    Hello.

If you prefer using the clubs to save for vouchers and cards for Christmas.

    A good one is....

    https://www.love2shopsavings.co.uk/savings/

It is run by Park but seems to have a better range of vouchers in that you can save for supermarket vouchers on their own without taking the combination voucher that Park does on its own website.

    Not sure if that helps.

    :)

The post office do a Christmas club card where you save regularly and are only able to access the money in November.

They also have a household budget card.

For the past few years I have put any £2 coins I get in a sealed tin and I usually end up with around £400 by the end of November, that's for presents (If I have already got bargains for the grandchildren I pay myself back out of the £400) and I save nectar points for the food shop. Works well for me.
