Sold a pack of socks that hubby got for his birthday - he didn't want them as he doesn't wear black socks anymore. £3 added to savings - off the mark for this month. I have 2 items that have bids on ebay out of 5 which is pretty good.

I also had my first 'no' on the job hunt yesterday. Unusual to actually get a response but it's just picking up where I left off this time last year.

Interesting phone call tonight. I got a call from an employer that I sent something out to last night. They were very keen to do a telephone interview then and there as it's a distance job (MR Interviews) but the hours wouldn't suit. they wanted 2 'evenings' a week plus 1 day per weekend hence why I applied, but the 'evening' was 2-8, which I cannot do as hubby is at uni or working until at least 4 every day so I wouldn't have the car. However, she left me with a number and a name and said that if things change when hubb finishes his degree (i.e. end of term in April) I'm to call them.

It's an opening at least....maybe I'm not totally unemployable! :j

3 more applications written and sent, and 2 more agencies sent my CV over the weekend/monday.

Tonight I'm printing off application forms for Morrisons, Tesco and Co-op (the 3 supermarkets I have in my town) to do 1 per night and take in with covering letters for my availability. Hoping one of them will offer me something.

Not a lot else to report. 3 very happy babies, and a house that's still upside down but I'm determined to make a dent in the bedroom this afternoon once smallest wakes from his afternoon nap.

Trying to make some progress today with the tidying up. The bedroom hadn't been looked at since Tuesday as hubby has been unwell and Thursdays are always bedlam with pre-school and after-school classes etc.

So far I've folded all the clothes off the floor, packed some away in the suitcase to go in the loft (summer stuff), put some in a bag to go to the charity shop. I've filled a carrier bag with rubbish already so need to take a proper bin bag up there in a minute. I've also put the clothes away in their rightful place. Now it's onto the objects to find homes for....that's going to be the tricky bit.

3-bean chilli in the slow cooker for dinner ready for a mexican feast, with wedges, re-fried beans and nachos :j

Both older boys are actually upstairs NAPPING! Eldest takes a nap maybe once a month, and the only other one I have awake right now is the baby and he's playing on his playmat. It's bliss! :A

Job applications have stalled again due to business and not being able to use the laptop on an evening as hubby needed it for Uni work. He's at a game on Saturday night - wont be back til about 6am- so will crack on tomorrow I think. Aiming to get 3 supermarkets plus all the ones I've added to my browser list (about 6 I think) all done and ready to send/put in post/emailed by the end of the weekend. Unfortunately I will need to ring JSA people on Monday and sign on. :( Money will not stretch much further (reckon I have about 4 more weeks worth of money). Put my evidence in for HB on Wednesday as hubby was home to watch the children so hopefully that will come back soon....woman at the office said 2-3 weeks tops at the moment which is great. She actually said they're not very busy.

Still to hear back about hubby's grant. Not holding out much hope though....initial figures look like we're not eligible.

Anyway, back to the grindstone. Bottles to make, baby is due his nap (which will inevitably mean the other 2 will be up soon lol) and still more to do in our bedroom then theirs to tackle too.

made a surprise £4 on the sale of my aerobic step which has been on FB since december but suddenly someone wanted it. Less than I wanted for it but at least it's gone. Now to shift a baby swim seat we've used all of once (we make big babies who outgrow things fast! lol) and a couple of other bits and bobs I've found while ransacking the bedrooms.

February extra cash into savings so far into savings £15. At this rate my target of £50 is a way off but I think £30 may be doable. I've also put about £6 into my sealed jar which is nearly full now. Can't wait to count that and add it to my total.

So plan for tonight - hubby is at hockey until the wee small hours (probably be home about 6am) so I have a plan to tidy the kitchen, put everything away that has migrated onto the counters, tidy the living room and make sure there's space for his gear, sit down with my oh-so-healthy but oh-so-thrifty tea of a tescos EV pot noodle :o and then tackle my pile of job applications that need doing. I'm then going to see if I can possibly get a quick bath in before watching some friends with half a bar of galaxy that is shouting at me from the fridge!

I also have a few bits nad pieces of lists I need to make and some ideas I need to get down on paper before my brain eats them again. Things like what to get DS2 for his birthday in May, what to pack on holidays (what needs to be purchased before holidays), that sort of thing.

In other news - hubby and I have agreed to me coming off the pill. We think it was not agreeing with my thyroid medication and causing me all sorts of upset (mood swings, irritability through to depressive thoughts) so I'm coming off effective immediately. Here's hoping we can be trusted enough not to conceive another 'whoops' baby (both DS2 and DS3 were not exactly planned although very much wanted, timing was not great either time! lol :o)

    Lets do this thing!! :rotfl:

  • Have been asking my husband to do a loft run for a week now as I can't see the wood for the trees upstairs. I need to clean the bathroom but everything for the loft is stacked up in there! Hoping he'll get home early today and do it this afternoon as he's complained to me twice now that he needs his workspace soon to start his write-ups.

Got a load of stuff to do but feel like death - baby had me up every hour for the past 2 nights....had about 6 hours sleep in the last 72! At least it's half term so no school runs this week! :j

2 things only FB today to go alongside the swimseat. I thought that would go quickly but it's day 3 now and still nothing. I never price anything massively expensive as the point is to de-clutter, not make money, but that's definitely worth the £5 I've put it up at.

2 cover letters to write too. Then I'll take the kids for a walk up to the postbox...they're all down with a cold so will do them good. Youngest 2 are currently napping. Should really crack on.

  • Got my appointment with the job centre tomorrow at 2.20. That's if I can make it. I've messaged hubby but if he is in labs/already has commitments I may have to change that. This is why we need me to be a SAHM, god damn you money!

  • Just popping in to say hi :) I'm also a sahm to 3 boys.

My hubby works different hours and sometimes 7 days a week so I can understand how hard it is when you have to book appointments around them, not easy. I hope you can work something out so you can continue to stay at home with your little ones.
