Low cost to buy smart phone.

I have a X-Cover GT-C3350 mobile and SIM only contract. Now that I've enjoyed my first few weeks using a Galaxy Tab 3 8" tablet, I think I'm ready for a smart phone (android). Wanting to keep the cost low, I asked in orange/EE and was directed to this model:-

(Some user reviews are less than complimentary, but I tend to think that's the same with most things, you only hear when things go wrong.)
With this model and my needs in mind, do you have a recommendation for such a phone please?.

The same price - also on PAYG with £10 top-up needed. Huawei Carphone Warehouse sell their phones unlocked, but to be doubly sure you could choose one on the same network as you have your sim only contract.
Agree.
I bought Huawei Y300 for my Father for just £40 in Carphone. no top up requiredWhat happens if you push this button?0 -
Cheers -that's a good tool, but that is the G300, rather than the Y300.

Better screen, faster processor, same OS.0 -
TBH, I have not clicked your link and wrongly assumed that it was G300.
Even G300 is better than Alcatel, while Y300 is slightly better than G300.0 -
The important question is what's your budget?
If you can stretch to a ton, then get the Moto G, it will blow any competition away.0 -
Be aware that some of the older cheaper phones run old Android with no OS update .
Moto G is bang uptodate .0 -
According to the Orange shop (linky), the retail box has no charger, just the USB cable and you need to buy a charger plug that has a USB connector on it (like a mate of mine's htc).Be aware that some of the older cheaper phones run old Android with no OS update .

I can't see the spec listing a flash for the camera on that page, but according to Motorola's own site, it does. Sounds ideal for me as well (I'm looking to upgrade my old Nokia 3510i that's served me so well for 9 years).0 -

+1 for the Moto G. Go 16G though IF you can stretch?0
