Hi guys, please help me with this.

I've received a parking "fine" from New Generation Parking for parking in a disabled bay without displaying a disabled badge.

This was in Wales. I was Christmas shopping with my Dad on 17th December and we forgot to display his blue badge. I remembered while we were queing at the tills in the store but for some reason I thought that there was no legal requirement to display a blue badge in a private car park, so wasn't in a rush to get back to the car. Clearly, I was wrong!

There was no ticket left on the vehicle at all. The letter arrived on 30th December. £100!!

What do I do next? Reading through this forum I've picked up that it's not a good idea to ignore these anymore. But what do I do as a first step? Can anyone give me a link to a thread with a template letter on it please?

Thanks so much

LJ

is this/was this in a car park that serves only one store, or is it at a multiple retail outlet?

Is it possible to find out who owns the car park ( ie superstore/property company) and who contracted the parking company?

As for the blue badge requierments your correct, however some car parks use them to check.

Heres what to do, if possible contact the car park owner not the parking company - if the car park owner is known, and tell them that your dad was with you and that he is disabled and therefore they must cancel the ticket issued by their agent, for whos actions they are responsible for.
You should also complain to the shop/store

    Hello op - panique pas!

First thing to do - after removing all identifiers from your post i.e. company, date, location, is click to coupon-mad's Bible on these unenforceable 'invoices.'
Put this in your search bar:

NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? EVEN AN OLD ONE? ***READ THIS FIRST*** Thankyou!

Coupon mad and many regulars put hours and hours of time into helping people here; you do need to read what they say.

You need to do some work yourself. Keep your response short, basic, as RK only. You'll find the template you need.

Company, date and location still showing. Do remove these.
Ring one of the shops from whom you have receipts too. No harm in trying to get it cancelled early. Otherwise, just supply basic RK details and courteously DEMAND your POPLA code.

Never admit that you did not display the badge, this in legal terms in known as a defence.
They must prove the allegation, not the other way around.
Only present evidence that suits your case.
    Be happy...;)

They took photos of my car showing that the badge wasn't displayed so there's no defence there unfortunately!

there is no legal requirement to display a blue badge on private land, so the fact one wasnt showing does not change the fact that a disabled person has the rights under the EQUALITY ACT 2010

some people are disabled and do not have a BB , thats the way it is

anyone owning a BB (like me) should be aware it does not apply to private parking , only council land and the public highway are covered

but the EQUALITY ACT 2010 is a law these landowners or PPC`s have to abide by, meaning their "rules" do not supercede the law

also, it is not a fine, its a parking charge invoice

just do a soft appeal, get a popla code, beat it at popla

also try to get the landowner to cancel it due to the EQUALITY ACT 2010 laws

Just discovered that the landowner is a pension company. It is NOT going to be easy to get them to help!

even so, they are jointly liable under the EQUALITY ACT 2010

but your best chance may be popla , IF the PPC dont cancel the charge

so stop dwelling on what happened and focus on beating them and costing them money

    firstly read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4835943

then look at this BB or similar case here, with the CM replies, alter them to suit your circumstances and send on in as a soft appeal to the ppc
