Please advise how to save money

Hi

We have BT unlimited BB , all inc Phone Calls , inc HD BT sport via SKY BOX - £50.50 a month , 6 months into 18 month contract

We have SKY + , 2TB Box , use that to watch BT sport and record , with entertainment extra , so the kids have the nick jr type channels - £37.50 (we are not in contract with SKY)

We have a TV aerial ..

So we pay £88 , what are our options guys?

Must haves , are BT Sport (and to be able to record it) , pause and record...

Looking at BT infinity and YOUVIEW to eb able to do those things , but any advice welcome

By recognising your must-haves as wants not needs?

YouView and BT both do optional SkySports, likely to be cheaper than your current package.
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/tv/compare-packages ~ £?
    https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/info/tv/tv-extras/boost/sky-sports ~£60/month

And since you have 12 months to go on your current contract I wouldn't be doing anything for now.
  • I was going to recommend switching to BT's youview service since you are in contract, however to be certain this is best for you, other than BT Sport what channels from the Sky Entertainment package would you miss? BT do have Nick Junior as part of it's Kids Extra package, also includes Disney, Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Errr , thanks for that , i appreciate nothing TV wise is a need , but was just looking at ways of getting a package covering all , for less than £88

I am not interested in sky sports in any case

No worries. It's over a grand a year, sounds a lot.

If you just want TV with catchup, record and pause, I'd drop the extra packages and go with TalkTalk. For £26 a month it's unlimited internet and calls, and includes YouView TV. But it's academic for now since paying off your contract will likely be prohibitively expensive.

Well to be honest , i think the kids would get used to no Ben and Holly , and we dont let them watch too much in any case , and really , i cant think of a channel , adult wise , on the entertainment plus package , that we would miss....

But i know i need youview on infinity to be able to watch BT Sport and record it , on the TV rather than as an app on a PC ?

BT's youview service is probably best for you then :)

If you aren't a massive downloader or online gamer, just take their TV Essential + Unlimited Broadband package for £21 p/m + line rental or if you want Fibre (probably not needed as you can record on the normal broadband, don't get Fibre unless you really need it) go with TV Entertainment + BT Infinity 1 for £22 p/m + line rental.

    You'll then shave off nearly £60 p/m :)

This wont be right though will it ?
I have to pay line rental still ?
if i take TV from BT, i will at best save the cost of the SKY @ £37.50 ?
