bank accounts

are there any good current accounts out there for my son 16 he needs an account for his wages. He has got a teen saver account with the yorkshire but when I phoned them last week they said I had to make an appointment for him and as the "current account adviser" only worked tuesdays and she has a full diary up to end of july!!! :mad: Are there any banks we can just go in with the relevant id and just open an account?

the alliance-leicester account you have to have £500 a month going in, his wages won't be paid in till sept when he starts his real job, at the moment he is doing odd job work.
As a matter of fact we have just come back from the local tsb bank and he opened his account with no problems had all his id with him no need to make any appointments. well done tsb

Hi Poppie's Dream,

That's great that he got the account set up ok at TSB but just to correct the monthly funding amount is only £500 for the adult A&L Premier Accounts and it's actually £250 for the Premier 21 Account so it's a little easier to meet the requirements for 16-21 year olds.
