thanks, sorry my first post wasent too clear
i dont wnt to use as room, just storage n somewhere, where my boy can have his own space to play on his computer n can go do homework as he shared bedroom with his 3 lil brothers, so no staircase and the window would go on the back of the property
i can stand up in the loft, no problm at all
i have the council see if they could point me in direction of suppliers and such but no joy there, they just dont seem very helpfull
So what do you want to use it for? There is a bit of a contradiction there,
The council won't allow that you need a room to building regs. Stairs and floor. Whoever quoted you £3k is a cowboy.
It matters not whether you can stand up, there is a minimum head height under regs.0 -
Hello.
I work for my local council in the investment and regeneration department which if you were living near me you query would get forwarded to.
I live in yorkshire, you would have to submit a drawing of the planned works. Nothing immense, just all the details.
The only way this would be allowed is if this ALL safety regulations were met, If you are prepared to pay for it all yourself to current building standards you would get the go ahead. We would inspect it, before, during and after.
As for the post that said you'd probably have to use the councils workforce I highly doubt that, but then again all the information I've given is accurate for my council, yours and everyone else's may be different!0
