iPhone insurance for a teenager under 16.
I'd appreciate some tips on the best way to insure the iPhone that my teenager has been given for Xmas. The phone is on a contract in my name. I already have my own iPhone that is insured via may bank account and I can't insure the second phone through this bank account policy (it only covers one phone and for my personal use only).
I have been trawling through sites but seems that most insurers need the phone user to be over 16. What is the best way around this?

I guess insurers exclude u16 for a reason as they are far too likely to lose their phones or have them stolen. Like for young drivers the price would be prohibitively high.
If so, the only way is to insure it in your name.
Also, you normally need a proof of purchase to insure a phone.0 -
I have been looking into a similar scenario as my son has been given an iphone for Xmas from his Dad.
The best option out there that will cover an under 16 year is the Nationwide Flex Plus Current Acct at £10 a month and covers all the families mobile phones inc under 16 and also has breakdown insurance, travel insurance etc.
Have a look and see whether it suits your needs.
Hope this helps

You need a policy that has authorised user cover. That way your teenager will be covered. You would still have to make any claims yourself and check thoroughly the level of cover provided and exclusions etc.0 -
Do you have 'personal possessions away from the home' cover on your household insurance? The phone should be included in that. If not, give your household insurers a call too see how much it is to add that option.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
