So where have you actually tried for an account?
Your title says "anywhere", your post suggests you've tried the co-op only.0 -

Perhaps we could have the long story then --- as something is amiss here.
I have never known a current account have a guarantor for instance.0 -

Apologies, I first opened my account when I was 15 - 16 (Natwest Adapt) which resulted in the member being a guarantor. When it was converted into a Student account, that was when this happened, and she took the money from my account. I questioned where my money had gone, she explained she was going to give it back but never did.
Natwest apparently notified me by letter saying my account was being misused and it was going to be closed in 60 days - Although I never got this as my letters were obviously hidden. I just found my card unable to work within the ATM. I went into branch, was told my account was closed and I owed some money, which was paid off instantly. But ever since, I've approached banks and was rejected from even basic accounts. At one point with Barclays, I was sent a card and pin, but that was closed upon activation.0 -
YBS Cash Transactor? It's more of a savings account than a current account, but will still allow you to pay bills, receive income and withdraw cash (no debit card though)
No on line application, but you can request an application form to be sent to you via post.0 -
Have you tried to get any other credit such as a mobile contract?
Have you tried a pre paid credit card that just do identity checks rather than credit checks?
Might help narrow down the issue.
Cashplus do one you can use as a current account.:beer:0 -

I haven't, I have always been quite worried about applying for credit cards and things.
This seems okay - so it just works like a normal bank account? Do you have experience using Cashplus?
Thank you for the advice.0 -
I have a cashplus account that we use for travelling/linked Eurocard.
I did activate the banking feature but haven't really used it much.
Mine also reports a £100 OD that I can use.
If you apply for this and don't get it, must be failing identity/fraud checks I would think.

The account would have been yours and yours alone at that age unless you granted a formal third-party mandate to another party.0 -
