The 'extra payment every week' thread 2014

  • Having signed up for a few challenges and thinking them all over esp the 1% challenge I have decided that I can make an extra payment every week because some of my 1% debts are as little as £1.58 and surely I can find that if nothing else? So I AM going to do one a week and I am off to work out what I can spare from my bank and pay something to someone!

    Good luck all

Hiya, and welcome! What's the 1% challenge?
  • You break your debts down into 100 parts giving you 1%. You make a chart with 100 boxes representing your 1%'s and when your paying off your debts you tick off every 1% you pay. Its less daunting I find and I look for the next 1% as an extra payment. People do their whole debt but I have done it with each debt so I can concentrate on them individually and feel like I have accomplished more :-) I also like making charts and ticking things off lists so this is excellent for me :-) There is a thread on it somewhere that explains it much better than I have I'm sure but I hope I have made sense :-)

  • Ooh, I like that idea, Cantfindafreeuserid! Will take a look, thanks :)
  • Your welcome it really is helping me as finding all of it or even an extra months payment is daunting but finding just 1% of it seems really acheivable :-) and it all helps no matter how small :-)
