Losing Sky TV. Can we still record?

Hello everyone,

Just a bit of advice if you would be so kind. We are thinking about cancelling our Sky TV package but retaining the landline and broadband with Sky.
Does anyone know .......if this happens do we lose the facility to record stuff on TV , pause etc.

Thank you for your help:)

Yes you would unless you wish to pay £10pm to retain it. I have also heard some saying Sky do not offer this and others who say they do.
  • Hi,

you should still be able to record the free channels.

Basically your box would become a Freesat from Sky box and you would only be able to view those channels.

If Sky allow you to retain the recording features for £10pm (approx.) then you would be able to record, pause etc any of the channels that you receive.

To be honest you would be best getting a Humax Freesat recorder than paying Sky £10pm.
