Indoor Car Aerials?

If it's a Clio with the short screw in one at the back of the roof, virtually every decent parts shop will have a new one. Don't go for an in-car one, their performance is awful. Don't superglue your new roof one in place to prevent another theft, your roof will get kinked by the Neanderthal trying to get it off.0

Vw , range rover etc have aerials incorperated into the glass of the vehicle.
In my experience these are only of much use in a good reception area.
I had a car with a roof aerial, which worked fine where I lived. I had a hire car for a few days, same make/model, with an aerial built into the back window. The reception was poor compared to my exterior aerial.0 -
buy a replacement cheaply then snap the end off
no one will nick it then and it will still work0 -
my wing mirror glass got stolen, didnt make me consider buying a detachable mirror to take away with me.
these will get nicked once in a blue moon, possibly from drunks who just nick for the hell of it.
just replace your outdoor aerial, chances are it will not get nicked again.
aerials just screw on and are easy to remove/reinsert. if you choose never to replace the external aerial you will still need to seal the connector to stop it getting rusted. plus the car will look naff.
considering it will take time to rewire the internal aerial i would just pay £10 toreplace the external.0 -

My Volvo has what looks exactly like a ford radio and the aerial in the windscreen. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

If it happens often, try a nice coat of non-drying anti climb paint on the aerial rod.0

Some good advice on this thread. Thanks guys.
Is it better to go to Maplins rather than Halfords for this stuff? I have no idea if car aerials are model specific or not.0 -
First one says universal

First one is the wrong type, it needs a hole in the car. The others will work though as they come with adaptors to the thread on the car.
Just get a clio one off eBay, they post it to you for peanuts, and it will work better than the one you have now.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
