Virgin cancellation issue

Yesterday I cancelled my virgin Broadband and tv services, giving (I believed) the required 30 days notice. I'm due to have BT Infinity connected in two weeks. Today, I find that my broadband has already been disconnected. I can't get online to inspect relevant terms and conditions, but I assumed the 30 days worked both ways. Any advice as to my rights would be gratefully received. Happy New Year! Steve

I cancelled Virgin Media on 1st Nov 2013 and they gave me a date when the services would finish which was 28 Nov 2013.
Are you able to access your Virgin mail through a Web browser? Do you have anywhere where you can access the internet?
There may be an email from them telling you when your service should be stopping.
Good luck.0 -
Why not simply call them up?0

In my conversation yesterday, I was told 30 January. When I contacted call centre this morning, I was told that was the date for television services and equipment collection, but bb account he been closed immediately. Wrt email, I can access mine but my wife (who is on the same account) can not get to hers! Shambolic service!0

So did you not ask them why they wanted less than their 30 day termination term?0 -
When I called them this morning he first response was that I could get the service reinstated by entering 12 month contract! (Thanks for your quick replies).0

When I spoke yesterday there was no mention of the service being cut today. The only date mentioned was Jan 30.0
