Does anyone know how I can stop someone private messaging me, without turning private messages off completely?

A certain unhappy poster has decided to start sending me angry messages about my post thanking someone for a search win. :(:(

You can block the user I think.

Has anyone noticed Toro offers - mostly useless but still couple of bucks if it is a quiet day.

I have been very busy today and this is the first chance I've logged into this forum and can't believe the friction and things I've just read :-(

I'm relatively new to this site and to Swagbucks and without trying to be too dramatic it has been a life changer for me.

I enjoy all the help and tips whether it be that a Swagcode has been released or a video is being displayed or an instant survey available etc but I also do like seeing other things be it if someone has had a funny search or just even if they're having a good or bad day we all have them and it gives you an insight into that person's personality, I've often had a chuckle at a comment and yes have even thanked someone for no other reason other than it made me smile :-)

This is an open forum so anybody should be able to post anything they like without being told otherwise...yes of course tips to earn more Swagbucks are very important but to be kind and helpful and polite and considerate should be just as important if someone wants to say they've had a nice search, a win or even have a moan they shouldn't feel the need to be intimidated!!!

I'm sure everyone has their own reason for joining Swagbucks or being on this forum whether it be to just pass the time, earn a bit of pocket money or to save up for something bigger.

I said this has been a life changer and it has I joined SB on 18th September and already have earned over £280 worth of Amazon vouchers. I'm a full time carer for a sick relative so in between doing that have been spending many hours on here certainly most evenings as I don't get out that much and money has been tight so without boasting this has really helped me buy many items and presents this christmas I probably wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford.

Without joining this forum I would have never have achieved this and from the bottom of my heart I want to say a very very big thank you to you all....

Now please can we have a happy forum and it might be a bit early for this but Happy Christmas too!!!!

Well said Scorpiostuart, I'm glad you've found the thread and swagbucks so helpful, it really does sound life changing for you.

Apologies to everyone for adding to the friction, I really didn't intend to do that or to cause any upset.

Thanks for the help asajj and wizzbang.

Jeez, talk about a storm in a teacup. The person I feel sorry for is vampiregirl (who is a lovely person in my opinion) talk about getting victimised. She's not the only one who posts search wins.

If you don't like people posting their search wins, skip past the posts. Easy.
If you do like people posting their search wins and it provides you with a) something to search b) inspiration to search something new. Yipee.

No one is saying you'll win if you search that string - maybe you will, maybe you won't.
It's hardly crime of the century. But posting or pmming nasty things about fellower MSEr's is not on!

I searched "some ppl are so rufe" (complete with typo) and got 11sbs! LOL

I get everything you say scorpiostuart, particularity what I have quoted above. I am also a carer (I have a profoundly disabled child) and could have written the above myself. I enjoy the chatty, friendly posts and think that they do make a small community within the thread - I remember a little while back when both yourself and Wizzbang were not getting surveys and I was genuinely pleased for both of you when that changed.

Yes, posts such as those drawing attention to an instant survey on the homepage are helpful, but chatty posts also play their part - for example, we all know what it is like to face an evening of SBTV and understand when someone has a little moan about it.

...and scorpiostuart... an early Happy Christmas back to you :)

  • Just watched the Save The Children Christmas Jumper video again it appears several times a day such an easy 2 SB if anybody sees it on their homepage. I find it very funny think its a micky take on the Southern Comfort easy ad....anyway I couldn't place the actor was killing me so searched 'Who is the actor in the Save The Children Christmas Jumper ad' and got 14 SB. Amazed it's Harry Enfield crikey surely that's not his big beer belly? Lol I want that Xmas jumper....if my family read this really I don't!!! :-)

So what if people are giving others ideas on searches, I often go through and just copy and paste, to save myself thinking of something legitimate to search for off my own back, and this often helps me bump up my earnings.

Sometimes in life there are these people who needs to cause problems, arguments and enjoy people getting het up, MSE creates a block list so you can avoid seeing the posts of people like that. It doesn't prevent you interacting with posts and just means you don't have to see posts from someone who is being rude about you. Ignorance is bliss!

Vampire Girl - Don't be hurt by someone talking about you, they don't know you, so just brush it off. Those of us who know you like you ;)
