one other quick question on this.

I mean I've just sat here all day (working from home) on one laptop and have had the other next to me just running the SBTV and the radio (muted) all day + the occasional other offer and 10xgame. I reckon all day I might make around 100 SB or 50p which adds up over time for doing hardly anything....

I don't know how people can do this- radio- OK- I get that, 1 captcha every 30mins, not too distracting. But consider this, turning every minute or two to click on SBTV- have you considered the monetary cost of your lack of attention to your work? Let alone the risk, if you are working on something important, of making mistakes. Fine, if you work for yourself- your choice to make yourself unproductive. But, otherwise you are robbing your employer and I for one, would not have a clear conscience about that!

    1 KWH = 1 KWH whichever country you're in

OK but this is about cost, it's totally about the cost per hour.

For a simple very old fashioned and now not accurate example, a 1 bar electric heater uses 1kWh per hour
    .
My computer with it's raided 3HDD, midrange processor, air cooled graphics card and & really good cooling runs at about 210w normally and that inludes a specialist CAD board I use.

Add on to that two LCD screens and I'd be surprised if it runs at more than 350w per hour,.

Remember these type of equipment are never run consistently at full power, unless you are using thing that need high power they never even come close and if you are doing it you need better systems than I've got or want.

Rent an energy meter :D or

For your overspecced monster of a PC

Find the calculating box and input
    1 in hours per day
    350 in Watts
If you put my 20p high price or QQOs 10p you get 7p per hour or 3.5p respectively or use your own rate

Using the £299 15.6" Acer Aspire V5-573 Core i3 4GB 500GB laptop which has 65W power supply as a typical example of popular laptops

Find the calculating box and input
    1 in hours per day
    65 in Watts
If you put my 20p high price or QQOs 10p you get 1.3p per hour or 0.65p respectively.

My original estimate of 2.5p per hour for a laptop was purposefully high.
