  • Some people either think they are helping others by providing a 'winning' search or just want to let us all know they have had one.

It doesn't make a jot of difference to the way anyone searches and if they get a 'win' from someone elses 'win', it's just coincidental.
Plus, it is against the rules.

But, whatever floats their boats. :rotfl:

Personally, I read this thread for the friendly banter and social aspect. When people post their search wins, it's interesting to see what they're searching for and that often inspires my own searches. Something along the lines of "QuackQuack searched for 'ducks with moustaches' - hmm, I wonder what that looks like?" *searches and wins*

I don't see how it can be against the rules if someone else's search inspires your own. Mindlessly entering dozens of random terms is another matter entirely.

It's not against the rules, Swagbucks encourage users to share their searches- just take a look at their Facebook pages! Plus, if you post mobile search wins there, I believe you can earn extra points.

I would be very surprised if their "reward algorithm" factored in the fact that someone else had recently searched for that term or that particular terms are "favoured" for success at any given time. I suspect it has more to do with the time/number of searches since your last success and the amount of ad revenue that is currently in the pot to be shared out.

However, I can understand if it is useful for you to find ideas for search terms.

Of course, this random searching to hunt for SBs is against their rules though.

    Good luck anyway.

Posting search wins in order to say "Hey, look what I searched for and won x amount" is not against the rules and many people do that on here and on other forums/twitter/facebook.

Swagbucks are fine with that because the users are simply declaring what they win and that in itself is not a rule breach.
The rule breach comes when people take the term themselves and search it too.

Personally, I can't see the point of sitting there entering term after term to see if I get a win. It's a waste of time as I will get those wins anyway even if I only search several times a day as I would do normally.
Some people say "It takes me longer and longer to get a win", well yes, it will because the system doesn't like the activity of searching without clicking through or searching and searching random words and phrases.

I'm off now to try that "Ducks with Moustaches" ;)
