Foreign address/UK Vat number

I bought a Pandora charm from the estore as a christmas present
Someone else bought the same charm, so I plan to return it.
According to the terms & conditions, shipping is not refunded (£5). What's confusing is where the company is based, and so whether it comes under the remit of the DSR.
Pandora is based in Denmark.
According to my invoice, Pandora eSTORE is operated by Supplies Distributors SA, in Belgium
The invoice also has a VAT number of GB 804 9035 42, which is a UK number, and corresponds to Supplies Distributors SA.
My gut feeling is that, having a UK VAT number (and charging me VAT), they would be considered UK and so would have to comply with DSR. But not sure about this.
Any thoughts?

As they sell VAT rated stuff into the UK via the internet they need to have a UK VAT registration
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/managing/international/distance-selling.htm
However this does not put them under HMRC rules for VAT registration have nothing to do with DSRThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I would think their company is based in Belgium, ..but the bit about the VAT Reg no is not relevant to the DSR, - my company is UK based and UK Vat reg, but we have also a France TVA (their VAT) no, and pay TVA to French gvt. due to online sales there, ..we have no base, address or anything in France, just sell into the country from Uk
What address are you being told ot return it to? (ie are you told ot return to UK or abroad?)0 -

Those terms and conditions are confusing. The way its written it looks like shipping costs will never be refunded. If I was a consumer with no knowledge of the DSR I would not expect there to be two sections with return policies.0

I don't understand. The returns policy clearly explains what you need to to cancel under DSR and explicitly says they will refund postage costs. They also offer a free returns service.
*edit* although I can't see where brooker Dave's link comes from in the original link0 -
