Right, new year, new focus and all that. I somewhat fell off the wagon / took a break in nov and dec last year due to a number of things going on but I need to get organised again and focus.

    Not quite sure what jan has planned yet, as usual i will be excluding the following;
    - petrol
    - milk
    - exercise classes
    - budgeted bills (which after exercise is mobile and dental care)

Not sure of my stance on presents yet, it's OH bday at the end of the month so I'll need to get him something (actually I think I know what I want to get him, only slight issue is that it hasn't been given a release date yet) and I might try some early Xmas 2014 shopping in the b00ts sale. Since I don't normally count Xmas gift spends, not sure whether to include this or not.

Anyway, sorry for the waffle, please put me down for 12 NSD thanks ETO, and thanks to all who put their time and effort into running this thread and keeping us in check x

  • I'd like to join in please. I Was a member of MSE a few years ago and paid off all my debts following advice from MSE'rs and taking part in the challenges. I'm pleased to say that I've remained debt free but that's largely due to a change of job, which came with a much improved salary, and not because I'm in control of my spending.

This needs to change this year as I'm now planning my retirement so need to start saving.

So for January I'm going to start with 10 NSDs

Please can I go for 15 NSDs please :T

Today is my NSD 1as I haven't spent any thing and not going out or anything
    NSD: 3/15 April
    Grocery spend challenge April £49/£80
    sealed pot challenge 7 #201 saved £4.76
WSC commencing 30/3 £0/ £6 Virtual sealed pot challenge £5.46
  • Happy New Year everyone!

I'm focused and ready to say goodbye to debt THIS YEAR :):D:)

I'm changing my own rules hereon out. For me NSDs are about cutting out the incidental and spontaneous spending so I'm no longer going to count extra debt repayments as spends or grocery shopping IF I only buy what is on the list and the total comes in under £60 per week (there are 6 of us and this includes all cleaning products) I think that's more than generous.

As I've set higher targets than I thought I'd manage and hit them in the last two months I'm going for 18 NSDs in January.

    Good luck everyone

Happy New Year to you all! I hope your NYE celebrations passed in a way you were happy with.
For me, I watched 'Tudor monastery Farm' and a few episodes of 'Friends', and that did me just fine. I did have a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, but, in the end, I just didn't fancy it. I stayed up just long enough to watch the fireworks on the telly, then went to bed.
That being said, I feel more in the mood for a glass o' vino tonight, and might indulge during 'Sherlock'. :)

Anyway, I'd like to set 16 as my target again for this month please!
I didn't get one today, as went to Tescos bright and early. I was in there by 10am and have rarely seen it so empty! It was almost solely people either aged over 75, or mums with babies. And me. lol
Because it's fun to have money!
