Post Office Online Saver - Can't get back my money

efl

I have an online saver account at Post Office,
and recently I need to get some money out of it.
Every time when I try to make a withdrawal to my nominated account,
it says 'Transfer cannot be applied at this time.'
This has been going on forever, I just want my money back,
have anyone of u encountered this problem before?
I really need that money right now

Have you tried calling them or going into your local Post Office?0

Since it is an online saver account,
the branch refuse to do anything
Whilst, whenever I call them,
it just keeps me waiting forever,
and never put me through to a customer adviser0 -
what kind of value are we talking about?
persevering on the telephone has to be a good move. use 0800 1697500 or 0800 1694955 so that it doesn't cost you to call them. and when you get through, have your account details and facts re. the problem very clear, and insist you want your money without further delay.
good luck.0 -
Can't see an email address for contact. You could try Facebook or Twitter to give them a nudge.
Or use the form at http://m.postoffice.co.uk/mt/www.postoffice.co.uk/online-saver-enquiryI am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -
FWIW I've just transferred money out of my PO account OK. (It will take 2-3 working days before it reaches my bank account i.e. Monday)0

Been having this very same problem for the last 3 days....sooooo infuriating!!!!!
OP, did you get your problem resolved....and if so, how?0 -
I was unable to send out money for 8 days in a row, always with that message. Funny how transfers in always worked!
I talked to customer service and they were very amateur.
I sent them a letter to close my account. Problem solved!0 -
I finally rang them this afternoon, (0800 169 7500), and spoke to a not very helpful or sympathetic chap. It seems that the Post Office has made my account 'dormant' because there have been no transactions in the last 3 yrs. I wonder if other people are aware of this little 'rule' of theirs?? He said he had to do an online identity check before my account could be unlocked. I failed this as my account is so old it's in my maiden name which I haven't used for yonks. So now I have to wait to receive a letter, which can take up to 5 days, telling me how I must go about proving my identity. I'm going to have to get a copy of my marriage certificate to prove my name change (£10) and then send everything off by registered post I guess, (more expense). So, in the meantime, and causing great inconvenience, I am stuck without access to my funds which, as the account is called an Instant Access account it seems rather ironic! To say I am hopping mad is an understatement....why don't they tell people when their account is about to be frozen?0

I used to have a Post Office savings account...what a nightmare....tried to transfer it to another account type and they completely cocked it up...so then tried to close it...another nightmare....they ended up "locking" my account for 8 days because of their errors, and they would not accept any responsibility or do anything about it...spent ages on the phone....finally managed to get them to send me a cheque....NEVER AGAIN will I use their banking services...
(nb I think they use an Irish Bank to manage their banking?).."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0 -

But surely you should have done this at the time? One of the first things to sort.
Wouldn't stop the account being blocked, but you would have been in by now0
