Kitkat is the name of the new Android OS that hasn't been released yet.
Patent rubbish. It may not be available for all but as above posts it has been on my tablet for a month or so.

OP when the update is available you will get a notification, on my Nexus 7 tablet the notification is on the left of the screen under the drop down menu.

You could search the net to see if an update is on its way soon or even if it will be available. Some manfs are much quicker than others at getting the update out there.

Read up on the updates before you actually do it. My old Galaxy S2 phone is still on Gingerbread. I preferred the layout of the email system on it. I have many email addresses and it worked for me.

Then the updates started to roll out and several issues popped up, Copy and paste stopped working in some games and apps. Lots of very upset people when they find their fav app has stopped working and the developer no longer works on it.

Fair enough, happy to be corrected.
