Pop up tent, or Asda were doing a proper 3 man tent for £15 a week or 2 ago, so might be worth a look.

My son was 2 a couple of weeks ago.....and all his birthday presents have been shoved aside in favour of Matchbox cars.....it's all he plays with atm, and he won't do anything without at least one in each mitt.:rotfl:

So...I would recommend them. They are about a £1 each, but you can buy multipacks.

Wouldn't recommend buying the cheaper ones though - they can fall apart easier, Matchbox ones are really tough, and the wheels don't come off.

How about a couple of nice books? My kids love books and no one ever buys them unless I specifically ask them to. They don't take up any room and can be used over and over again. Don't buy the pop-up ones, if he's anything like my 2 year old it will be ripped to pieces within minutes. Anything by the Usbourne publisher is good and there is a whole range of books that start with "That's not my...." CAR, TEDDY, TRAIN, DINOSAUR etc. They are really sturdy touchy feely books that my 5 year old still enjoys 3 years on. HTH

Hi just spotted this thread, there are some fantastic ideas!

I get my DD (now 3.5) paints or playdough (I've a really good recipe for making it too) every couple of months and get big rolls of lining paper in diy shops. She never bores of this, she loves paint and has done from a really young age.

    Hope you get something lovely

Bath crayons. You can get them in early learning center. Really cheap and great fun. My little fella loves them.
