Parking Eye - Gordano Service Station - Have Ignored First 3 Letters Due To Old Info

  • So you did spend some money then- did you pay by card?

Make an appeal to Parking Eye yourself but also let WB forward the correspondence as well. If you can send a redacted bank statement for the purchases so much the better.

There are also many example of successful complaints to WB on Coupons Successful complaints thread.

Where did you make the complaint to for WB - have you tried contacting the Gordano services directly? And try again more forcibly this time - stating that PE are not keeping to their code of practice regardig grace periods plus the questionable accuracy of their ANPR timings.

N.B it is a requirement in the contract with the landowner and parking eye's "management " that parking eye adhere to their code of practice;)

We drove around the roundabout today by Gordano services entrance and there was certainly no visible Parking Eye notice - probably hidden behind all the lovely shrubbery (will make a special detour next time passing and enter the services and take some some piccies)

    I paid by cash unfortunately.

I contacted the email address given in one of the advice pages, it was just the WB generic parking complaints email. So you think I should contact Gordano directly? Should I just send the same email but directly to Gordano?

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

No, phone up Gordano and ask to speak to the Manager about this. And phone up the WB Head Office and complain (don't mention the email AT ALL, that was a generic reply, start the complaint verbally from scratch without saying you have already emailed about it. Rehearse what you want to say and be assertive - stand up during the call!).

And 4consumerrights says, make a strong online late challenge to Parking Eye anyway which is after all what is advised in the 'Newbies read this first' thread. If you get a Letter before County Court Claim please refer to the 'LBCCC Fightback' sticky thread, where the other day I just added a link to a letter that successfully pulled a PE case back from the brink of court, to POPLA stage. Can be done but not by ignoring PE, you need to rattle their cage with the right words.

Some of the stories on that website are worse than some of those we get on here.

It makes no sense to time-limit stops at a MSA. After all, for the vast majority of the thousands of motorists taking advantage of the stop off, there's nowhere else to go other than to the outlets within the MSA. the longer they stay, the more they spend, surely.

And for those who fall asleep for a number of hours, then clearly they are unfit to drive off after just two hours.

To me the problem of PCNs at MSA is far more serious than those at retail (or similar) parks.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Before the scourge of the PPCs came to this country, there was never a time limit on parking, and I don't think there was ever an issue. Somehow, the PPCs even managed to get the conditions of the license between Highways Agency (who own the land) and the companies who run the MSAs to allow just 2 hours free parking. I wonder what back-handers passed between various parties there.

It's yet another case of the pestilence that are PPCs claiming to solve a problem that didn't exist, purely to line their own greedy, unethical pockets.

Interesting that the parking "fine" comments started in November 2010 ... I'll bet that was when the PPC started there.

Not worth it, Hot Bring - he was 'got at' by the Parking Team who now send a template reply (not in his name even if you email him). So bad a U turn has been made by Rod McKie that I now warn against emailing them or him, in the 'Successful complaints' sticky & instead tell people to keep the complaint local or by phone.

  • UPDATE 2: I have tried speaking to the branch manager and been directed elsewhere numerous times. I have just received a letter from a debt collection agency? I guess they have me screwed right?
