    Thanks everyone

Ovivo looks interesting but sadly the coverage map for our area doesn't look promising at the moment.

I was tempted by GiffGaff because I know a lot of kids are using their sims and the free calls to other GG users would be great on that basis. However, of the main providers, O2 unfortunately has the worst coverage where we are and Tesco pretty much has the best.

As soon as I can get the big 17 year old sibling to have a conversation with me - uses a smartphone on O2 - I'll be a bit closer to making a decision.

I remember when the only option I had was a corded phone in a drafty hallway and the bottom rung of the stairs to sit on

That doesn't make sense as Tesco Mobile use O2 as their network so the coverage will be the same for both. Giffgaff also uses O2.

Thank you. That's interesting....I checked both O2 and the Tesco coverage maps and Tesco definitely think theirs is better than GG. Hmmmmmm.

Edit. Please ignore me LOL I've just done it again and they both look the same. I don't know what I was doing last night....However, red wine was involved.
