Move from Orange to T-Mobile

Hi guys, just looking for a small bit if advice.
My contract with Orange ended last month so i'm now paying £38/month to them. I dont want to change my phone at the moment so would prefer to pay less each month by moving to SIM only. The best deal i can find to suit my personal curcumstances is on T-Mobile. Does anybody know the best way of doing this? I know you can port your number between networks but do i need to go through this process with Orange/T-Mobile as they are both part of EE?
many thanks in advance

You might find it easier to phone up and get your PAC (code to move your number) and just say you have a better deal with another network.
You will get a retention call and when they phone you back ask for their best available SIM only offer (check with Billmonitor for the best price to meet your needs). They may well offer something attractive as a retention deal.0
