So sorry you are feeling ill, but theres no need to pull out just pop back in whenever you want, I was in a very dark place when I joined, 4 years now, and I found that it really helped me, when it seemed that my world had ended (lost my Dad, my Son and my best friend) and everything seemed out of my control I took great comfort in that the thing I could control was my spending.
My savings have meant I have been able to help my Son`s two boys, take my DD and DGD on 2 fabulous holidays, Prague and Rome, donate to food bank and overseas childrens charity.
I know my life will never be the same again but I have learnt that I can control a bit of it.
Hope things improve for you.Slimming World at target0 -
Can I please join in. We have just got our first family car and the money it is gobbling up has left me panicky and shocked. We cant afford to keep living the way we are and have to cut back on a lot. However, my monthly shop comes to a shocking £700 per month (that includes all household products etc too not just food). That's for 2 adults, 3 kids, 1 weaning baby and 1 cat. I would love by Xmas 2013 to try and half that! Now we have the car (though it costs us money it has improved our lives) we can shop around for better prices or go to Lidl, Aldi etc. Thanks
Bless I think you mean 2014 and welcome, may I suggest that you try initially for £500, read the advice given at the start of the thread regarding meal planning, it really is the first step.
If you would like to post a typical months shopping and your meals then I am sure the lovely helpful people on here will be only to pleased to help you reduce your shopping bill.Slimming World at target0 -

Small spend of £2.29 on a couple of bits and bobs I forgot to get.
This week's menu plan:-
Saturday - Out to dinner with friends - (yay someone else cooking)
Sunday - Roast Chicken, potatoes dauphinoise and brocolli
Monday - cold chicken HM wedges and baked beans (so simple but yummy!)
Tuesday - Stirfried noodles with the rest of the LO chicken
Wednesday - Ding meal - HM creamy pork lasagne with brocolli bechamel
Thursday - Spanish omelette
Friday - Penne arrabiata
Got some dough prooving in the bread maker that I'll turn into pinwheel rolls using up the rest of the Chrimbo Stilton. Big pot of tomato and lentil soup on the bubble - that'll do me for lunches for a couple of days and some for the freezer. *polishes halo*
