  • £2 on eggs from next door. I've got 3 days sorted for next weeks meal plan...I have to work out who's here for tea and who isn't and what can be kept warm for DS on the nights he works...ah well!

    £5 spent yesterday on a few bits and pieces that i forgot to get in the main shop. Off to update my signature shortly.

    Sorry that not been around much but I have had blurred vision.

    Also, I think I have stretched myself too thin across the different threads and. My poor fibro head cannot keep up. So i will have to choose which ones to post with. This one and the fiscal fast i will definitely continue with.

    Just updating my signature, I've spent over half my budget already and it's only the 10th :eek:. Got lots of ingredients rather than ready meals though so will be doing a lot of cooking this weekend. Tonight I'm making the Hairy Dieters chicken korma. It is a firm favourite in our house although I'm out of saffron but I don't think it's going to make too much difference. Need to rein myself in though if I've any hope of coming in on budget.

    Had a NSD yesterday. Today I have been out and bought the weekly tv paper, so spent 45p.

    I forgot on previous post, I also bought half a tank of petrol as a long trip to make tomorrow. That's £35 off the petrol budget :(

    new tagine pot bought for Xmas) served with bulgur wheat
    Tuesday (I

    Chicken Za'atar wraps with tahini and salad
    Wednesday
    (I cooked): Coq au Vin with mashed potatoes and savoy
    cabbage
    Thursday (housemates mum visiting bought dinner) - M+S
    Scallops St Jacques followed by Cold chicken, salad, potato rostis, homemade
    guacamole and brioche rolls. One of these 'put everything on the table and
    decide what you want' kind of meals.
    Friday (housemate will
    cook):
    Roast Pork with roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips, savoy cabbage
    and gravy
    Saturday (I will cook): Unsure yet - probably
    something easy like Pasta bolognaise
    Sunday (housemate will
    cook):
    Salmon with mashed potatoes and savoy cabbage

    £48.20 today at Ald,s for meal plan for week

    Sat - pork steaks (from freezer) peppercorn sauce and mash
    Sun - SC roast chicken, roasties, cabbage, peas, carrots, yorkshires
    Mon - tukey wellington, pots, veg and gravy
    Tues - chicken curry and rice from LO chicken
    Wed - beef stew and dumplings in SC
    Thurs - gammon, egg and chips
    Fri - fridge dive
    Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

  • Top up shop today in Ald!, £12 spent on bread, butter, cooked meat, crisps (to keep the troops happy), sugar, loo rolls and a few other bits. Still sticking to the meal plan so although I'm getting close to my budget, only top ups to get for rest of month

    another spend free day in the dodger household:j

    nothing I'm needing so staying well clear of supermarkets

    used up pack of mini sausages wrapped in bacon in a toad in the hole type thing
    must admit my yorkshire pudd is Always blooomin heavy ,
    i like to think im not a bad cook but this beats me every time and ive used every recipe known to man
    when my DD makes it she just throws it altogether and it rises beautifully lihght as a feather but she is away at uni
    it never works for me but hey ho its edible and thats supper for the next couple of days sorted

    ive half a tin of corned beef in fridge if anyone has a yummy recipe apart from corned beef hash to use it up
