Few bit's purchased in the local shop bringing me up to £85.85. Gonna try a £40 shop at Mr T's on Sunday as I have a £4 off voucher to use up. Got 6 meals in the freezer, would like to use 1 or 2 of them next week, and then perhaps make another big pot of something to add to it. Will be purchasing chicken and fish at Mr T's to try and help with the healthy lifestyle we're trying to have.
Tonight is fish and chips Friday treat, which I won't take out of grocery challenge and Sunday is dinner at mum's...so at this stage only 18 dinners until pay day.Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):

Hi everyone,
Welcome to SilverSaloon - you're on the list
NSD yesterday but today needed pots, baked beans, spag hoops, milk and qu0rn sausages. DS2 has a friend for tea and they will have pork sausages with mash and either beans or spag hoops. I will have qu0rn sausages - trying to be good!
Did beef casserole yesterday in the oven instead of the slow cooker. Added 100g red lentils, 3 parsnips (cut up super small), 1 large courgette from the freezer (from our veg patch) - tasted yummy and the children didn't realise it had so much veg in itThink the dumplings helped as well
DH is away this weekend, so I have planned mussels and fries for tomorrow night, and frozen b!rds eye chicken and veg pies for Sunday. Children love these pies but DH always moans, so we will take the opportunity to have them whilst he's awayWill need to shop for these items tomorrow plus packed lunch items for next week for DS2.
Have a good day all. Off to update sig.

Small spends yesterday of £4 for 24 bacon rashers (mostly frozen for OH's weekend bacon rolls as I don't like bacon) and £1.39 on 4 pints milk - they were out of the cheap M*adow P*rk stuff.
Tried to post a pic of dinner (yummy chicken casserole with dumplings - though OH wasn't that keen but I loved it!) but my laptop crashed last night so couldn'tPart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Meals this week have been/will be:
Monday (housemate cooked): Chicken Tagine (using a new tagine pot bought for Xmas) served with bulgur wheat
Tuesday (I cooked): Chicken Za'atar wraps with tahini and salad
Wednesday (I cooked): Coq au Vin with mashed potatoes and savoy cabbage
Thursday (housemates mum visiting bought dinner) - M+S Scallops St Jacques followed by Cold chicken, salad, potato rostis, homemade guacamole and brioche rolls. One of these 'put everything on the table and decide what you want' kind of meals.
Friday (housemate will cook): Roast Pork with roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips, savoy cabbage and gravy
Saturday (I will cook): Unsure yet - probably something easy like Pasta bolognaise
Sunday (housemate will cook): Salmon with mashed potatoes and savoy cabbage
Housemates mum is over all week so we haven't been having any spicy food or any stir frys as usual since she doesn't like them. I've been off all week since I'm studying for an exam, so have had a bit of time to allow a casserole to simmer away
Hope everyone is well!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Hi all
Haven't updated for a few days. Wednesday i spent £1.45 in Mr T on a loaf of bread and cocktail sticks. Not sure what possessed me to buy the cocktail sticks but they were 10p in the sale and I might need them for my son's birthday party in a few weeks.
Yesterday we ate out in the evening for my aunty's leaving party. She's going back home to Australia Saturday. Spent £19.45 on two meals and a free drink and £3.49 on pudding to share. Then my stepdad bought us a drink each.
Not sure what we're doing today but DP is off work for a long weekend so ill imagine we'll spend something out and about.
Off to catch up with the thread whilst DS is asleep.
