Branston beans at Tesco

I was simply asking why as I didn't see Mrs E post that information earlier, and I have been keeping tabs on the thread.
Is there any chance we could just have civil answers to civil questions please? I even put a smiley in so's you would know it was a friendly enquiry.
I haven't edited my first post, I said I had tried them, I also said I would happily try cheaper brands.
You response to me was quite sarky despite the smiley & rather weird as you asked questions I had clearly given the info to in my first short to the point post.0 -

There's nothing sarky about it at all. I asked why you didn't like them and suggested there may be something about them which was different to supermarket own brands.
At what point are you going to accept that I asked a civil question? Or are you just going to argue me blue in the face that I meant something else - something which isn't contained within the message that only people with a crystal ball or your amazing perception can notice?
Now that's sarky!0 -
I had them once I won a food basket in a slimming world raffle, I thought they were horrible. I would happily try cheaper brands, but not lidls!May I ask why you wouldn't use Lidl's? Is it that you think there's something wrong with what they're selling? Maybe something which is different from supermarket own brands?
Seriously?0 -
Nothing wrong with it. And it's got a friendly smiley - because I'm a friendly person, although getting a little less friendly now that you won't drop this inanity.
Ok - I'll be honest.
In your post to me I thought you were implying that I had slatted lidls, just for being lidls, like I was being snobby about it.
I like lots of their products, but not their beans.0 -

No. I didn't mean that. If I had I would have said so clearly. I just wondered, as posted, why you didn't like them. I put the smiley in to be friendly, because as I've said above, I am friendly.
I have no wish to offend you or anyone else.0 -

I thought they were the weirdesf tasting beans I've ever had.0 -

This wasn't the experience I had. That could be down to one or two things though. It could be that they're to my taste or it could be they're selling a different brand in different parts of the country at different times.
I'd be inclined to say the former but since I've had them I've never gone back to searching specifically for Heinz as I used to. I'll eat any baked bean now.0 -
Out of interest, has anyone found that Branston beans have gone a bit watery and have smaller beans? The latest batch I brought were very watery. My mum had some older ones from earlier this year and they were like a thick soup compared. I hope they don't go down the watering them down route.0

I used to buy Heinz beans then started buying branston beans. I now buy asdas own beans in the red tin. They are about £1.20 for 4 and we really like them!0
