Hi all.
My Niece has been in an eating disorder clinic in London for a little while now. She is staying there and at the moment there are no immediate plans for her to be able to leave.
She is in her late teens.
Although I have been to visit her, I live in the Midlands so can't go again for some time. I would really like to send her something to be delivered to her at the unit which is in the Chelsea area. Don't really want to send flowers as A) bit boring for a teen lol and
very pricey for something that won't last very long.
Obviously can't send anything food or drink as that would be unhelpful and insensitive of course!!!
So - Ideas please? I only have a budget of about £30-ish... and would like whatever it is, to to be delivered to the unit in the same way that flowers would be iykwim?
I found http://www.happyboxlondon.com/ and thought the idea was kind of what I wanted but not sure about the quality of the items as although they are pricey, they aren't "brands" I have heard of (perhaps I am just too "run of the mil" LOL!)
She loves anything nice smelly - loves LUSH etc... Also likes stationary - she adores PaperChase (which is great as there is one a 5 min walk from the clinic so she gets to toddle off there and mooch when she is allowed)
Thanks in advance people :A Failing this, I guess I will just have to send a package of goodie myself but its not quite the same is it...

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

To be honest she would probably prefer a package you had made, that way it is things she definitely likes and she'll appreciate the effort you have made. With lush, are there baths in her clinic or just showers, something to think about if buying their products. A lot of people with eating disorders have very dry skin so you could look around for some good skin products that she'll enjoy using and will improve her skin.0

Have you looked at the website notonthehighstreet.com
They have some lovely gifts that can also be personalised and would deliver.
Even something like this which is on sale for £9.60 (free delivery) and you could add a couple of other things.

Hi. I don't have an eating disorder but have to spend a lot of time in hospital due to a chronic illness. The best things I have ever received in hospital were some new PJs, a snuggly blanket and some warm bed socks! Smellies are also well-received. It kind of offers some comfort when you're away from home, if that makes sense. I think if you were to make up a little package for her (you can get all this stuff cheap from Primarni!!) she would love it x0

Okay guys - general consensus is to make up a little package of my own
So, how do i send it?
Its likely to be fairly heavy - i am thinking courier rather than Royal Mail?? If so, any recommendations?Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Parcelforce - I sent someone a really heavy and large Christmas box full of pressies and it cost just over £15... another cost £12.
It depends on the dimension, weight and how quickly you want it delivered.

Most local post offices will take the parcels for this service.:hello:0 -
