How many TVs have any form of video output, though?
Not video output, but video input. The OP wants to watch iPlayer on the TV, not the computer:
"so I can watch it on a proper TV, not a computer."
The original question was based on how they thought they thought they should fix the problem, rather than what the problem was.
So, you download the program onto your computer, then plug your computer into your TV and then "play" the program from your computer to your TV. No watermarks, no copyright issues, no illegal activities.
