I'd like to convert a couple of programmes from iplayer format and record them onto DVD. I have found a couple of free downloads that can do this, but they put a watermark on the DVD. Are there any free ways of doing it without a watermark?

Hi Custardy - I'm not sure what your point is?
All I'm trying to do is put the files on to a DVD so I can watch it on a proper TV, not a computer.0 -

I think it's being pointed out that what you want to do is technically illegal and not for discussion here?
I'm not trying to be all righteous - I'll happily admit to ripping CDs & DVDs for my own use.0 -
...and once you have it on DVD you could copy it as many times as you wanted and give those copies to others quite easily.
All of this being totally against copyright rules/law.
So you are being prevented from doing so.
I think I am right in thinking that stuff downloaded to your computer on the iplayer download program is only available for a certain period of time - after which it autodeletes from your disc.
That is the whole point - Iplayer stuff is copyright - you cannot simply copy down for your use as you want how you want in whatever format you want at any time in the future as and when.0 -
Point taken, but ultimately it's no different to recording it via a live broadcast and then re-distributing if one so desires. Anyway, would seem it's difficult/impossible to do.0

Not free in the strictest sense, but combination of a console or device that has an iPlayer app (WII or similar) plus a DVD or HDD recorder will allow this. If you have both devices already ....0 -
This is a good point - later discovered via further searching! I have both, now to investigate cabling requirements.0

I think you can convert these videos to common formats first, then you can use some DVD burner like ImgBurn, BurnAware Free, DVD Flick, etc. They all free to use and don't have watermark on the DVD.0

Or just use get-iplayer ?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Is plugging your computer into your TV too obvious that no one else has mentioned it? That way you are not doing anything illegal.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0
