For the poster that said it is unlikely that i didn't hear them knocking on my door. Just to clarify the situation I was round the back of my house, playing football. Not in my house. or in the garden.

Seems to me that there is a lesson for the OP to learn. However incompetent the supplier may have been making phone calls to helplines is pointless. PUT IT IN WRITING, keep copies and get proof of delivery.
