For the poster that said it is unlikely that i didn't hear them knocking on my door. Just to clarify the situation I was round the back of my house, playing football. Not in my house. or in the garden.

They looked at my meter and found out i was telling the correct info all the way long, that their estimations were wrong etc. So they took a payment of me on the spot.
So, instantly they made out a correct invoice, covering the actual consumption and a cashier was on hand to take the correct amount - by cash or by credit card?0 -
You need to talk to offgem and your energy suppliers compliance officer to resolve this0

Seems to me that there is a lesson for the OP to learn. However incompetent the supplier may have been making phone calls to helplines is pointless. PUT IT IN WRITING, keep copies and get proof of delivery.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
