When I was doing this sort of thing, I had an offset mortgage in place to ensure that if I couldn't roll over the Balance Transfer onto another card, I could request a drawdown from my offset fund and pay off the credit card.

Thanks very much guys for your replies. As I said it was an option that I was just thinking about. I was planning to pay about £5-7k, but if it works out more expensive that the current mortgage, then it's obviously not worth it.0

Most won't accept credit card payments. Which mortgage provider?
I have paid lump sums before on credit card, and made cashback of 1 per cent on the credit card.0
