Application forms vs Linkedin : which one will be faster and more efficient?

Hi all,
I would like to know by experience what way will be faster in order to find a job online.
I used to use until present mainly a jobboard (using 'direct employer only' option) but I have been advised to more focus on linkedin but this last seems not so easy to use.
Is linkedin so efficient than the usual jobboard (where one could direct employer jobs)?

Just try everything... there do seem to be some decent and genuine jobs on Linkedin.
And a friendly tip: take care that your English is correct when applying for jobs.0 -

You are right : I try to make proof read all my messages by a freelancer before sending them for Jobs. But the main part with linkedin is to find the right technique.0 -
LinkedIn can be easy, I applied for two jobs whilst on the loo earlier but you need to do a bit of work ensuring you have a good and complete profile and join the groups relevant to your role/sector, you will see two types of jobs, the ones officially advertised on linkedin and 'Job discussions' where group members post jobs.
Remember its not facebook, so no comedy drunken profile pics.0 -

Either way, you just get information that there is a vacancy and about the kind of person they need. Then it is up to you to write something that will convince them that you are the right sort of person... If you write the wrong things, or even the right things in the wrong way, they will not reply. That is what is important, rather than the place where you find the vacancy.0 -

LinkedIn is very easy to use and you can see when your application has been viewed too.
Plus in most cases you have the name of the person who has placed the advert therefore can contact them direct too.
LinkedIn has DIRECT employer jobs posted by the employers.
I go to advanced search for Jobs and tick job function and search that way and I also type several key words into the box at the top to search roles too as well as people like recruitment consultants.We’ve had to remove your signature. I have seen this and your last post and you are focussing too much on LinkedIn,not sure why. Just amend your title on LinkedIn that you are available for work so others will see that on their timeline, you don't need to be messaging all your contacts, also use their job search function.
Use other job sites as well the more the better0 -
not keen on applying on linkedin. i find jobs on there and then go direct to them...0

Never applied using LinkedIn (I am on there, however), but I used a technique of uploading my CV to job sites, every Monday. After a week or so, people would stop contacting me about potential jobs, or to call and ask what types of jobs I'd be interested in.
Re-upload (perhaps with additional skills had I made progress learning something new (I'm heavily self-taught in a lot of my skills)), more people see it, more people call. It's how I got my present job.Professional Data Monkey
