Faster to find a job, apply for a job or get a job?

LinkedIn is very easy to use and you can see when your application has been viewed too.

Plus in most cases you have the name of the person who has placed the advert therefore can contact them direct too.

LinkedIn has DIRECT employer jobs posted by the employers.

I go to advanced search for Jobs and tick job function and search that way and I also type several key words into the box at the top to search roles too as well as people like recruitment consultants.

I have to try as soon as I wake up today. I lost more than a week trying to file 2 forms : really painful especially as I am not someone very talkative (both in French & English). Also, I prefer linkedin.

I have to add that I believe that I need to target at least to send 300 messages to my connections (or people in same group than me) in order to try to have an interview that could lead to an interview.

Never applied using LinkedIn (I am on there, however), but I used a technique of uploading my CV to job sites, every Monday. After a week or so, people would stop contacting me about potential jobs, or to call and ask what types of jobs I'd be interested in.

Re-upload (perhaps with additional skills had I made progress learning something new (I'm heavily self-taught in a lot of my skills)), more people see it, more people call. It's how I got my present job.

I believe, this is what I forgot to do and became demotivated : update my cv at least once a week (every Monday) or simply re-upload it.

I have seen this and your last post and you are focussing too much on LinkedIn,not sure why. Just amend your title on LinkedIn that you are available for work so others will see that on their timeline, you don't need to be messaging all your contacts, also use their job search function.

Use other job sites as well the more the better

In this case there is no point to have any connections....Frankly I will contact them again this week and will stop if still not getting any interview.

You are randomly messaging 300 connections? In the hope of what? Annoying them?

Why say YOU prefer LinkedIn? You should be using ALL sites that advertise jobs and although lots of places are now concentrating on their LinkedIn profiles to advertise, many still aren't or do not have a LinkedIn profile so you will never find their jobs on it.

You need to look a bit further away from it if you ask me.

Good luck messaging all of your connections I would remove you as a connection if you were doing that to me, I am in agreement wit AP007 here as I also said you seem to have a fixation on LinkedIn, I have worked in IT as a contractor for years now and never got a role via LinkedIn, I use the search functionality, I amend my profile to show I am looking but all linkedin is is a tool and it is one tool of many out there. It is not predominantly for job searching, job sites are for that

It is NOT randomly : I am sending messages to only head of department or recruiting manager...

May I know why you though that was randomly?

And obviously, I equally applying on usual jobboards.

What are you using linkedin for so?

Frankly, if someone remove me from his linkedin contacts because I asked him if he do not have any any opportunity then I could only thank him since I believe that certainly we do not have anything enough to share.

In fact, I would simply like to know what you think about a jobsearch by a way described at the following link :

I do hope someone is checking your messages before you send them.
