Uk parking control ltd

hi, new to this forum but hope of help attracted me to register with this forum.
i have been charged £100 if paid after 14 days of cooling period otherwise £50 within 14 days of issuance of parking charges. i parked at retail park and returned with in maximum 2 hours period with a surprised parking charge stating driver left site. i did shopping but did not bothered to collect reciept and saw ticket on windscreen. this was issued by uk parking control ltd. what best should be done. people told me to ignore the parking charges but i am concerned how could they send letters at home if i have not contacted them and given details. is it their right to get info from DVLA and has DVLA authorise to pass my details to UKPA-it is also reg with BPA.
please advise

Please read the sticky posts at the top of the forum which will tell you how to deal with UKPC. Don't ignore them as that is old advice but do put in an appeal to UKPC once you have read the above stickies. They will reject the appeal and will have to give you a code to appeal to the Parking on Private Lands Appeal service or POPLA. Follow the advice on here once you have a POPLA code and you will be able to get their charge dismissed.

Please follow the advice on here and do not pay UKPC a penny.
They are nothing but scammers that just want your money.
They will try to frighten you, and scare you with official looking letters and threats from idiotic scamming debt recovery companies with wait for it......... coloured letter headings but it's all bluff.

Yes by all means ignore any windscreen ticket. This is advised for a number of reasons. 1) You do not know for sure that the parking company will follow through and buy keeper details and launch its campaign, here it is foolish to volunteer all information. 2) There is no evidence that the ticket was even on your windscreen when you returned. How does the parking company know that a passer-by never tore it out, do they have recorded proof the motorist even saw the ticket??? Of course not.

The game begins when the four weeks expire and UKPC purchase your details from the DVLA. Until then, take it easy. If their trash should land on your mat, come back then and provide the details of this notice to keeper, not your personal details or the location or the notice reference number, just the details of the document; the price they seek, whether they have identified who is purported to be the creditor, why they think you owe them, that sort of thing.

What is definite is that you do not owe them what they seek because they seek a figure that grossly exceeds genuine losses to UKPC and to their client.

However, come the time you may have to contest the notice to POPLA (we'll explain more in due course), it could be that there are a dozen or so other irregularities contained within the Notice to Keeper which will stuff UKPC. Believe me, there is not one reputable and outright law-abiding parking company.

    All the best!!!

You will need to appeal when the first letter arrives, as long as this was in England/Wales. Yes they can and will get your address from the DVLA, so what? That's when you get your chance to appeal as registered keeper.
