Thanks, that sounds lovely. I will try it next time I can get some decent mince cheap.
I have so little in at the moment as the freezer was used to house all the cakes and things for christmas :o

  • This year is a save, save , save year for me! I was shocked at how much incidental spending I had done in Mr. T popping to shop for 'bits and bobs' so meal planning sounds like a good start to taming the food budget. I am also going to subscribe to some fiscal fasting! And shop with cash. My budget is £45.00 for four of us (1 adult and 3 children) and a cat!
So using up what's in the cupboards it looks like this:
Sunday: Lasagne, salad and mini jacket potatoes, apple crumble (using up some too soft eaters) and cream.
Monday: Chicken curry (defrosting 4 chicken breasts makes 2 meals), rice and naan breads.
Tuesday: Slimming world pasta (chicken, pasta, onion, sweetcorn, garlic in extra low fat cream cheese) and hooray, its payday!:rotfl:
Wednesday: Turkey roast and Jamie Oliver's Filo Pastry Christmas Pudding dessert.
Thursday: Homemade pizza and garlic bread.
    Friday: Fish, chips and beans.
Saturday: Omelette with any left over cheese, onion, pepper, ham etc. and baked rolls.

  • Thanks for starting us this week Soworried :)

So last weeks meal plan was great until Wednesday, then we had so much leftover pork from Christmas Day we had leftovers on Friday with Potato Dophinouse and LO German Red Cabbage (never eaten or made Dophinouse before, definitely a winner here). That's 6 weeks with no takeaway/ready meals etc! Really pleased :)

    So this week:

Saturday - Bratwurst, HM Chips, HM Tzatziki, COTC
    Sunday - @ Mum's for Christmas
Monday - Brisket, Mash, Yorkshire Pudding & Veg
Tuesday - Chicken Korma with Rice
Wednesday - LO Chilli with Jacket Potatoes
Thursday - LO Chicken Korma with Rice
Friday - HM Pizza with Wedges and Salas
Saturday - HM Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas
Sunday - Spaghetti Bolognese with Salad

    Good luck everyone x

  • Here is our family meal plan - several family meals out this week. On NYE will do a cooked lunch then it will be party food at neighbours house in evening - will take along some homemade rocky road that is still in the freezer and will make a batch of mini quiches.

Sunday - out for dinner with family
Monday - HM Chicken Kievs, Potatoes, carrots and cauli cheese
    Tuesday - Creamy Sausage Pasta
    Wednesday - Meal at in-laws
    Thursday - Meal at parents
Friday - HM pizza using up leftover cheeses and meats
    Saturday - Spaghetti Carbonara
  • This week's meal plan will hopefully help rid the fridge of all the random christmas leftovers!

Sunday: Vietmenese turkey with Nuoc Cham
Monday: Either creme fraiche carbonara or dinner out. Mr Pinot is having coffee with someone to discuss a potential job so if that goes well we will treat ourselves using a 2 for 1 voucher which is about to expire.
Tuesday: Piri Piri prawns, roasted peppers and salad
Wednesday: Greek chicken, butternut squash and feta pie with broccoli
Thursday: Creamed Brussel sprouts with bacon
    Friday: Harissa sardines with salad
Saturday: Carrot soup and cheese scone

Pinot Noir do you have an actually recipe for your Greek chicken, butternut squash & feta pie? I would be very interested if you have, pretty please :D

I haven't sorted out a meal plan for this week yet. We have lots of leftovers to use up so there probably won't be any proper meals for a few days
