  • Anthemion Auctions are just off Newport Rd in Cardiff and hold regular auctions ranging from general sales to fine art etc. usually well attended (I have both bought & sold with them) personally I'd suggest you look around the Vale of Glamorgan depending on what type of property you want you could start with a 1 bed house @ £55,000 in Barry or a 3 bed ex RAF house in St Athan @ £90k and loads of options in between.
    Win's so far: Cadburys Mini Eggs £1.09 Pentel Goody Bag £10 , M&S Luxury Hamper £45, 10,000 Tesco clubcard points (£100) :j

Try looking at Penarth as well, it's by the sea just outside cardiff. Not sure of house prices though.

Way too high for me unless i buy a Homes under The Hammer type place (usually called a wreck) or one of those holiday chalets!

    Yeah Penarth is expensive.

    Try Machen, near Caerphilly?

Llantrisant is also OK. Old Llantrisant, anyway.

That's not far from me. Has it's ups and downs (literally - it's at the top of a very steep hill!)

If you want to be close to Newport/Cardiff and the borders, the Valleys would be an option but as many already mentioned, some rough areas and the market has become rather flat.

Have a look at postcodes NP26, NP44, NP19 and surrounding areas and depending if you don't mind an extra 20 minute drive, have a look at Lyndey/Blakeney which is just over the border into Gloucestershire from Chepstow on the A48.
I like this idea as I'm originally from the Chepstow area so not too far away.
