  • Afternoon all,

I have been very lazy in the last few days and not really posting.

We've had a fair bit of sunshine today although I think it felt colder out than of late.
Dropped DS2 to work this morning and had a good old try on in New Look, ended up with a skater dress to wear over leggings. I did pick up two in Primark yesterday. I knew I should have tried them first but couldn't be bothered and of course they don't fit. So I shall pop them back next week.

I am glad I'm not the only one who is itching to take the decs down. It just feels so unChristmassy now and I want to have a good clean.

Can't wait for DH to go back to work, love him to bits but I am so used to my own space...

Last episode of Pemberley tonight. I wonder whodunnit?

    Have a good evening.

    Afternoon

Been to Mr T to do a bit of shopping I expected it to be heaving but it was really quiet. Managed to use some vouchers .

2 loads of washing done , trying to dry it now

Soda crystals in the oven bottom hopefully they will do their thing anD clean my oven for me :D

Bought a new slow cooker for £12 as DH dropped my old one and smashed the crock pot . It would have been more expensive to replace the crockpot part of it than buy a new one , crazy

    Time for a cuppa x
  • Lovely bright sunny day here so we went down to town and picked up some half price presents for next year, paper, gift tags and cards. We went back over to the mill and got some lovely Christmasy bits for next year all at half price.

We finished the leftovers yesterday and my lot only want soup tonight, our tums need a rest day, we haven't touched any of the sweets or biscuits yet.

One load of washing left to do so I am keeping on top of it all.

Starting to get chilly so I am off to light the fire BFN x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I keep taking the sweets, chocolates and crisps upstairs for 'Youngest' to demolish.

Hubby doesn't seem to be very hungry and even his beloved cheesy biscuits are lying untouched in the cupboard.

  • Molly41 – so sorry to hear what you're going through, but you're right, it will be easier when your parents are closer. My parents are thinking of moving closer to us, and they only live 20 minutes drive away.

Donny-gal – before mygirls came home yesterday, I spent the entire morning watching Corrie and the entire pm watching Eastenders and then carried on when they'd got to bed. Only just about caught up now, kinda wonder why I bother, surely if I liked it that much, I wouldn't get weeks and weeks behind!

My OS today has been okay, well for me anyhows. I got the washing machine on today, but it was mainly my brother's clothes as I've been down at my mum's all week.

Also was scrubbing the rug and the landing carpet, but that was because either the cat or the dog threw up on it, yay!. Same reason I got the hoover out as it was mainly stick or twig that got threw up, yuck!.

Spent the day at home with my two daughters, although mum and dad did pop up today. Mum gave me a whole new set of saucepans as she'd won then, so that was great! Not quite sure how you are supposed to get rid of old saucepans as they won't fit in the bin as they only come every other week, but I'll think about that later.

Aside from that, a quick trip to the park for girlies (avoided the play centre my oldest wanted to go to as my yearly pass has run out) and then a nice cheap dinner (meat dumplings with sauce and sweetcorn), but of course they didn't eat it, so me and the dog did well!

As I'm trying to get more savvy about meal planning, I just wondered if anyone had a foolproof way of keeping recipes in order. I've noticed some just while I've been reading through posts on here that I've now stuck in Word just as a quick fix while I'm reading through posts. But as I don't really like recipe books (I wouldn't cook most of what's in them), tend to grab my recipes as I go on the internet and such like, just wondered if anyone else did the same.
