Merlin annual pass

  • I have a dilemma.

I bought a voucher for us from Gweek in the January sale last year. We didn't get round to swapping it for passes until mid-October. If I buy the renewal now I have to say which attraction we'll go to to renew, and I have to do that sometime between mid-October and mid-December - not massively convenient.

Do they do these sales every January? If so I'm tempted to just let the current passes run till mid-October and then buy new ones next January. Any flaws to that plan?

(ETA we live in South Wales with no attractions within 100 miles. Going to one to pick up passes isn't simply a case of popping in!)

I did. It doesn't really answer my question.
They have for the past 3 or 4 years but I wouldn't like to second guess, it may be worth waiting a few days next year to see and if they don't reduce them buy them on line you won't loose anything.

I'm thinking of buying in January 2015. How will waiting a few days help? If I buy now I'll have to use them by mid-December and decide now where to pick up (not very convenient).

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Ours ran out last year at the end of September. I had this exact dilemma so chose to let them expire and have just bought again in the sale. Most of the places we want to go to wind down in October until March so it seems a waste having the passes when we don't use them as much. So, we'll pick the new ones up in March/April and save any London things we want to do until November/December this year, feels we get the most out of them this way.

Thanks so much. That makes the decision much easier!!!

Has anyone managed to renew theirs and get vouchers at the Sea Life Centre in London?

Just so you also know - disabled people are entitled to a free carers pass and it has the picture of the disabled person on the back and then you can give the carers pass to anyone who comes with you. If you get the disabled person a premium pass, the carers pass will also be a premium one. You should still be able to get the family offer if buying more than 3 but, if not, upgrade it next time. Chessington were really good, they told us how to do it and sold us 3 standard then upgraded the disabled persons one for us so we had 2 premium and 2 standard ones.

Given the choice I would go to the London Eye ticket office which is right by the Aquarium...one year I stood for (literally) over an hour whilst the aquarium tried to sort my tickets out. London Eye office are much more on the ball.
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!

The sale has taken place for the last 3 - 4 year but there is no guarantee it will take place in 2015. The wait a few days comment was aimed at the person asking the question as waiting a few days to give a Christmas present would potentially save them a lot of money if they waited to buy in the sale after Christmas. Therefore the first sentence applies to your question.

I took DLA letter in but I would think Blue Badge will be fine as it has your photo on so you can prove it is yours. I would call them to double check but I am pretty sure that a blue badge is enough proof of disability.
