    Morning all,

reading on the run as I am dragging sons & husband off for some more retail duty - we only buy clothes at sale time so today it is son's work suit etc from the nearby outlet village. I like going there because it is easy to get DH round, with lots of seats ;)

Tru - just left with a sore throat now thank goodness, so I have to hold off my injection. I'm not complaining.

    Laundry duty this afternoon :(

Now time for my bacon sandwich - real holiday food :T
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Yes I am up for that, althoughI think if I have fizz that early the dinner wont be cooked !

Had a nice day at my sisters yesterday had a lovely walk with six dogs ! then home to jacket spuds cold meats and salads, and a glass or two !

Back to normal today, DD and I are going to nip into town today she needs thick socks for her new DM's and I need a few jumpers I seem to be wearing one constantly ! Also I would like to look in John Lewis for a coffee grinder.

Not sure about dinner, have some turkey left (gave mum the rest) and a ham to cook, so I might do cold meat and chips.

    Have good days all x
  • Good morning everyone.

Nothing much happening here today, weather is far too miserable to go out anywhere so I think another day in lounging on the sofa is in order for us, will need to stick the WM on at some point today, cannot stand having huge piles of washing lingering round the house.

My parents are coming down tomorrow to stay for a week, normally they come for Christmas but this year I said I wanted a quiet one with just myself, dh & ds, so they have decided to come to celebrate ds's birthday on Monday.

Not sure what to have for dinner today, think it will be something quick and easy out of the freezer.

Hope you all have a lovely day x

    Afternoon All,

Very stormy here overnight with a number of trees down. Along our neighbourhood the wheelie bins looked as if they had a soap box derby during the night! lol

Had to go to Post Office this lunchtime and winds are still very strong.
Agree with Tru the TV has been very poor. TTFTM Last Tango was good but Downton was just okay IMHO.

Nice quiet afternoon and evening for us I hope.

Have a good day everyone

    Hi all
Hope you are all recovering from colds and Xmas over indulgence!
I'm going to attempt cleaning the house today, which means nagging the kids into taking their presents upstairs AND finding proper places for them - not just making a new pile on the bedroom floor...
Telly has been pretty rubbish but I'm looking forward to the new Marple on 29th and Sherlock on New Year's Day (or was it eve? I must check)
All turkey and trimmings got finished yesterday, so I will be rummaging for something else for dinner. Can't think about food now, too full on chocolate still!
Have a lovely day all x

According to what Mr LW told me, it's New Year's Day. I got him to do a trawl of the listings, and Sherlock was the only programme he found that he fancied over the whole holiday period. So our TV has been firmly OFF, apart from when we've utilised it for our WiiFit.:o

TTFTM - I believe Call the Midwife is on tomorrow afternoon - about 3 ish. We missed it as the Skybox was playing up and so didn't record it. I enjoyed Downton.

Recovery day today. Christmas has been hard and not the best we have had.

Today we have sliced up all the ham MIL bought and froze it, slice up the turkey and froze it and took poppy to the vet as she scavenged a turkey bone the birds must have dropped. Makes me cross that people put out the carcass for birds to pick. Anyway for now she is ok.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Molly, I hope that DS is a little better and that Polly dog recovers ok ((((Hugs))))

Had a nice quiet Christmas day and we had the outlaws with the dogs over yesterday, it all went well so I can relax now until next Christmas :)

We are going to the watermill tomorrow because MIL loved the little glass Christmas tree that I got there and I said that I will get her one of those.

Got lots of lovely presents and so many DVD's (Arrow s1, Grimm s2, Endeavour, 2 Doctor Who (Tom Baker and Patrick Troughton ), Terra Nova and the complete Father Ted set. I will watch all of them when I have had my op, because I won't be able to do much for a while. I also got a book on how to make lots of Homemade stuff

Not to mention a dragon guzzler thumb_NEM6303.jpg he is awesome and is sitting on the mantlepiece,
a dragon glass, a usb pen with my name on, jewellery from DH, and a solar/wind up radio. I feel very spoilt :) especially as I told DH not to spend a lot because I have had my wood burner and that was the present that I really wanted.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Afternoon all,

Dunno about you but I'm getting a bit fed up with leftovers. Turkey again tonight but the rest is going to be split up and bagged to go in the freezer.

I'm still eating prawn cocktail that is a 2 days passed its sell by date. Wouldn't dream of giving it the hubby or son as I don't mind poisoning myself but I'm not having their health on my conscience.

Yesterday was quiet. Well sort of quiet, I managed fit in my household daily chores round hubby who slept all day and son who barricaded himself in his bedroom to stop the dogs going in and out and leaving the door open. As I said before, hubby slept most of the day and couldn't sleep last night hence he kept me awake fidgeting. However, Milster didn't need to get up for a wee so once hubby had settled down I slept too.

Up bright and early with the plan to hit the sales. There was a few bits I wanted but didn't want to pay full price for and I'd got a number of vouchers. I think I'd got £80 in vouchers plus £20 on my Boots advantage card. £30 on my Debenhams beauty reward card so todays spend has cost me very little and I'm well stocked up... for the time being anyway.

Tea tonight will be turkey *yawn*. I think me and 'Youngest' will be having spicy wedges and hubby will be having his usual mash. Something green and something a rabbit would appreciate will most likely appear on our plates too.

Wind was really bad last night. I was awake till gone 1am hearing the wind howling round the house. There were so many bangs from things flying around the gardens and I'd got visions the trees around my house would be uprooted and blown over. However, the trees round the house were safe but there was a lot of damage done overnight to trees further afield. First thing this morning we were woken by the sound of a chain saw and theres two trees not so far away from my house that look precariously unsafe. Our bin men came this morning and the wind took an awful lot of the bags that weren't tied securely. The place looks a right mess.

I agree, television has been very poor this year. Weve spent a lot of time watching repeats of Steptoe and Son, the Carry on films. They still make us laugh.... In fact I can hear one of the Carry on films on the television downstairs now.

Anyway, I'm waffling again. Onwards and forwards. I'd best start putting these things away that ive bought.

    Have a good evening all,
