Multi stop flights

Hi,
Stayed in the Edison myself. Found the location second to none, but a bit dated. What did you think?
I found Opodo good for multi stop flights. There may be others though.
I love the Edison. Perfect location, and I agree a bit dated, but I feel really at home there. I have stayed in a few hotels in NY over the years, but the Edison is the only one I go to now
They have had a refurb since the last time I went and the prices have really gone up, but there are still some good offers occasionally.
Thanks, I will have a look at Opodo

Ferf, that's correct, I got both the Palazzo and Venetian on Priceline last year, if it's still the same it should be fairly reliable it would be either of those. You just need to make sure Trump is not included in the zone. That said I've stayed at Trump and liked it, but it's a little bit cheaper so could be disappointing if you think you're getting Venetian/Palazzo. We got 4 nights at Palazzo in September, then tried to add the Friday/Saturday because the rate was good on Priceline and ended up getting Venetian for those dates. They let us stay at Palazzo right through though.
Another option, having you considered driving between LA and Vegas? I quite enjoyed doing that. We flew to LA and drove to Vegas last year, had 2 nights at Culver City (convenient for Interstate and sightseeing), and then a night at Long Beach on the way back. I enjoyed Long Beach.
My friend, who I am travelling with mentioned driving between 2 of the places, but I didn't really take much notice. I will look into it though, thank you
I saw a programme about the Venetian and that why I want to go there, I have no preference really, the only other hotel I have seen in Vegas is the one in the TV show Las Vegas
I don't particularly need to stay in a posh one (although my friend only ever wants to go to places so she can tell people she has been!!)
I will have a look at the LV sticky.
Thanks everyone for the advice

If you are dead set on The Venetian (as opposed to Palazzo) then be careful with Priceline. What was the TV show out of curiosity? There was one 'world's busiest hotel' that was quite interesting that was about Venetian/Palazzo. Priceline would also carry a risk you could get Wynn, although I would see that as a bonus to be honest.
There was a TV show a good while back about Green Valley Ranch and it made us want to stay there. It's down in Henderson though, so not somewhere I'd particularly recommend, but we really liked it - although only for a few nights as part of a longer trip.0 -

If you mean the show with James Caan set at 'The Montecito' it doesn't exist....I think some interior shots may have been Mandalay Bay but pretty sure most were just sets somewhere.

Does it matter - OP will have at least one night between flights & by checking each leg individually they'll be able to see flights that wouldn't appear in multi-city searchestravellerboy wrote: »Skyscanner is no good (at present) for multi-stop flights - try www.momondo.co.uk0 -

Alan, am I missing a trick ? I thought that if I did that, I'd only get the (much) more expensive one way flights. I've done a dummy enquiry for my 2014 trip and it came up £150 pp dearer than the multistop option on Kayak.0 -
I would definitely book the Trans-Atlantic flights on one ticket and a keep the domestic flight on another ticket. The majority of the time, this will give you the most flexibility just in case you want to change the date of the internal flight.0

I think checking both ways makes absolute sense - open jaw with internal booked on its own...and booked all on one ticket...there are benefits to both options and without doing the research it's difficult to know which is 'best'...luggage charges on the internal leg need to be considered particularly if the internal flight is booked separate.
Sometimes using different search criteria will throw up different options so I think I see the point alanrowell is making...but from my experience there's a lot of risk of trying to bolt together one-way flights on different airlines that don't codeshare so the price goes through the roof and people think it's too expensive and give up...when searching for multi-city flights somewhere like kayak will give much more reasonable results...and if you try all cities involved and also an open-jaw ticket...then you can see what the prices look like and if it's worth pricing the internal flight separately and add it to the open-jaw flight.
It was several years after taking one trip to Vegas and one trip to Chicago each year that we realized that open jaw - out to Chicago, home from Vegas with internal flight booked separately wasn't that much more expensive than a return to either place on its own.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Being very thorough is the key, but takes time and effort.
Kayak and momondo are good starting points to get a feel for possibilities, and then I go to airport and airline websites to check options, but I don't think kayak and momondo always search as thoroughly as they should. For instance AA on their advanced page has a 'search all carriers box' which can often throw up more partner airlines flights.
On a bit of a more general USA travel note, with the takeover of US Airways by American Airlines, it has been reported that US Airway's flights will get AA codes by early January so along with AA and BA flights having AA codes this will mean more trip possibilities for next summer on flight itineraries booked through AA.com.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
