Rant: Argos, rip off!!!

I bought a bed and mattress from argos last year and got the 2 years warranty. The bed within a few months has been very creaky and after tightening everything we could think of starts creaking again. The mattress is not the most comfortable but we thought it was just because we weren't use to a medium mattress as we had a firm before.
Then when we moved house we had to dismantle to bed and when we took the mattress we noticed the springs of the mattress had started to come through where they were touching the thin metal round slats of the bed and 2 had even poked through the top, which we had not noticed yet as we had put a mattress topper on (as it was to uncomfortable) and this was slightly ripped.
So I found the warranty and purchase details in one of the boxes we had and as it was only 10 months ago we got the bed went into the store on the 24th Dec to ask for a refund/exchange. The lad in the store advised us that we could not get a refund as it was after 30 days but we could exchange them. The bed had been reduced (though we paid the full warranty price for the original value) so they only offered to allow us a bed of the value we paid +£10 so I had to pay an additional £30 for the bed (we did not want to end up with another problem bed so had to go for a wood framed one) and we managed to find a mattress for exactly the same value as the one we had, but they did not offer to knock an additional £10 off the bed.
The following day the Christmas sale started and both the mattress and bed were greatly reduced, the lad in the store and the person he talked to on the phone would of been aware of this and it really annoys me that despite this being a fault with their product they were still after getting money out of me.
What annoys me most is that they would not start the 2 years warranty again, this seems odd to me as it is a new item so the warranty should start again.
I wish I could of just got a refund and spent that extra £30 plus what I had paid originally on a decent good quality bed that would last.
My old bed was 7 years old and the mattress at least 11 years old (as my parents old one it was not new when I got it 11 years ago) and the bed frame was only a 1/4 of the price of the new bed frame at just £30, so I stupidly expected if I paid more for a new one for it to last longer!!

The bed I have been told by argos was not replaced under warranty, but as it was returned under a year as faulty so they did not go off the warranty.0

You have no idea if the 2 staff had been aware it would be greatly reduced in the sale. The stock thats for the sale may well get delivered in the evening or at night so any day staff wont know about it.0 -
and the funny thing is my husband won't even fit on the new bed properly as it is only 6ft4 and he is 6ft5, at the sale price the kingsize is now only £5 more than the original double price0
