Ask you employer for another week's holiday.
You ask for excuses, you really mean any good lies I can tell.
Be up front and honest, its the best way....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
just don't turn up.
they won't miss you for 4 days.
alternatively 'work from home' on those days...just in case you need to know:

Cancel holiday leave elsewhere in the year. Is that not obvious?0

The only options I can see are
A) ask your employer if you can take four days from next years holiday allowance.cancel four days holiday before the trip if you have other time booked
C) if no holiday entitlement left offer to take the four days unpaid
I knew someone who "accidentally" booked extra holiday as they thought it would be ok, when they didn't return on their return date they received their P45 as were absent without leave so basically sacked. Guess it depends if you think four days is worth losing your job over but also depends on what your employer is like.
There is no excuse for booking annual leave time when you don't have that time left, in our contract we have to check annual leave left BEFORE booking anything.0 -
Yes, I always had to OK the dates before I could have the holiday, guess it depends where OP works.
I would expalin to my boss and as for 4 days unpaid or cut out other things. Don't lie, you will get caught out........0 -

I've typed and deleted so many replies to this.
I've got no other advice than that given by the others in this thread.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I was thinking that. Surely you ask for the time off and only when agreed do you book a holiday.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

It all depends how your employer views unauthorised absences.
It also may also depend on your previous employment record with them e.g. have you had any warning for misconduct etc?
Do you regularly lie to your employer about absences?
Actually, I think you must have date dyslexia, as not only have you booked the wrong return date, 25th July 2014 is not a Monday, it's a Friday!
25th July will not be on a Monday until 2016 and I doubt very much that you have booked a holiday that far in advance.
Maybe you should sit down and review what dates you have booked off from work, what date you fly back from your holiday and what date you are due back at work because this doesn't add up.0 -
