Hi. I just got the lgg2 on tmobile with 3g. I like the phone but the 3g internet is slow. The bars showing service are usually in one bar. Frequently no bars and with an occasional surge to 3or4 bars which lasts a few seconds then its down to 1 bar again. Kind of the same story wherever i am, rarely getting more than 3bars. Question is, can i improve this, what are the options? Many thanks matthew

Re the signal on T Mobile (EE) you should find that it improves quite a bit when you are outdoors.
If that is the case it will affect 3G more than 2G indoors and the only thing that you can do indoors is to use the phone near a window where it should perform better.
Unlike O2 and Vodafone who also operate 3G on 900Mhz as well as 2100Mhz EE only has the 2100Mhz band and this does not penetrate buildings so well as it is such a high frequency.
That's just one of the reasons that 4G mainly uses 800Mhz because it works better indoors although other frequencies are also devoted to 4G use, but that's another story!
For your home use you can get a signal booster from T Mobile I think - their website will have details on this subject.
The slow speed could be due to lots of people in your area using the network at the same time - happens a bit in cities for example.0 -
Thanks for reply, yes the signal is better outside but walls seem to cause a problem for the 3g. I think the solution for a stong signal in my house might be to connect wirelessly to a strong connection. Currently though i just have a 3g dongle for my laptop which is my only home computer. Can anyone advise what would be a good option in order to get a strong wireless internet connection through my house which my laptop phone could use, at the same time also. I dobt really want to pay for a broadband connection like virgin or sky. Would 3g/4g wireless router enable this or would it result in a weak signal like what im getting on my phone. Id also like to have it as a low cost without add ons like tv and landlines, and ideally not a long contract! Help appreciated0
