Well, I'm going to offer a completely different opinion....
Actually I'm not, I do agree with all the posters who say do not proceed with this purchase. Don't listen to the EA if they try to persuade you not to withdraw your offer. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I'd walk, unless 15%-20% comes off the price.
BUT the issue you may have is whether the property is insurable and mortgageable.0 -
I would pull out too sorry.0

Walk. If you buy and want to re-sell you may well struggle0
-
I agree with DKLS always buy on a hill, and make sure your garden slopes away from the house at front and back - and not too near the sea of course. Not that I'm paranoid...0

We walked away from a property in flood zone 3 a month ago, and when I walked past yesterday, the water was at the doorstep.
At the very least, ring your insurance company and ask them for a quote, stating the recent flooding in the area.
Sounds ljke the flat wouldn't flood, but there's the chance of disruption. Did the power go off?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Tonbridge will always flood unless you are buying on that hill leading out of town, BUT it sounds like these flats were built above a car park for a reason, and is something that might not happen again until many years after you have moved on enough reason not to buy? Maybe a chance to negotiate a discount?Been away for a while.0

So OP imagine that the people who have answered are your future potential buyers, sorry none of us seem to be interested in your flat.0
-
I'd also walk away.
Apart from the house insurance costs, if you have a car which you park in that car park, you might find your motor insurance costs increase as well.0 -
Remember: any doubt is doubt enough.
Additionally, this is a business transaction. Don't let. Emotions get involved.
It could end up costing you a lot in the long run in both house (via the service charge) contents and car insurance. Plus any future works to the block to help minimise flood risks will have to be met by the leaseholders.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
